i guess it depends if you know much about Chef here.
i like to think that even though he’s an android or some kind of software Roy made just to torment the poor boys,
that he’s got some sort of false memory to make him more ‘human’ a false past. like maybe he raised ducks for food before or something.
maybe that can be used for something

new life style entirely , really.
he’d received an opportunity to put his skills to
work at a new theme park and admittedly he was rather excited.
it would be challenging work though, having to not only provide food
for the exhibits but raise that food himself. mild you he could have
been lazy and just ordered it , but there was something nicer about
raising it himself. besides some of the exhibits called for live animals
as per protocol .
he picks up one of the larger ducks, its about a year now. he’s just figuring out
what needs to be done before bringing it to the exhibit. it was unfourntate for him that
many of these ducks had been raised by him as hatchlings over the years and formed a
sort of attachment, yet here he was about to allow their demise and with no quick end either.
he strokes the lovely mallard a few times, letting it just enjoy the moment. one last feed of corn and
he’d bring him to the exhibit .
“there - that a boy.” he offers it a handful of corn . which is excitably accepted and gobbled down.
“thats it. come along now.”
offering his arms the duck waggles a little and climbs onto them, resting.
not all of them were this friendly but this fellow was. he shakes his head , heading toward the new exhibit.

alright , its pretty basic . i just kinda run with the idea that Chef / Meatman / Lambchop??
had secondary motives for the murder aside from just keeping Duck Guy in line.
after doing some digging into the culinary world its possible that Duck is actually a mallard duck ,
which would mean that the foods in the episode were specifically chosen not just to be a repesentation of the changing health ideas of the media -
but also to fatten duck. as majority of foie gras is produced using mallard ducks , specifically males for weight gain reasoning.
its possible that they chose duck guy to be a duck -- for that specific purpose and throw a mention of the harsher side of meat farming and unethical treatment in there.
or - for no real reason. who’s to know if it wasn’t just by chance they chose duck to be a duck ?
intresting facts do come about when reviewing the producion of the food and what’s considered ‘healthy’ for birds.
birds shouldn’t eat bread or anything of fatty content or low nutritional value -- which is literally everything chef suggested to duck and manny. so its -- possible that he’s trying to fatten duck.
he was -- jabbing him a lot from the beginning. so this au basically just says chef’s been here the whole time overfeed duck for the sake of this dish and just used his lesson and the frustration and anxiety as an excuse to butcher him.
i studied -- way too much into duck and foie gras for this theory . help me. i can literally go into at least twelve other facts on mallards and its -- well really boring.

dead inside.Oh~! That's all really interesting! Welp, now I'm never gonna eat foie gras. XD I feel bad for both those ducks, and the geese that were fattened and butchered to make them. May they rest in peace. Otherwise, that theory is really well thought-out! Plus, that would explain why Duck likes to eat a lot (in the interview, when he was asked what he likes to eat, he answered the question with "Pineapple fritters, waffles, miniature pancakes, a chicken picnic, bread lengths and whipped milk." which implies that he likes to eat a lot, especially fattening foods.)
But, since the show itself tends to give off a lot of messages (like, making fun of religion in Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 3, especially Christianity, the forceful education system in DHMIS 1 (and possibly in episode 2), the huge lack of care in the education system, as shown by the constant misspellings in the episodes, and some grammatical errors that tend to be provided sometimes ("Do a digital dancing" should be "Digital dancing", "Doing digital dancing", or "Do a digital dance", "Count to a 50" should be "Count to 50", "Green is for go, but red is for not go" should be "Green is for go, but red is for don't go", and there's probably more in there.), how some teachers spread lies providing without any evidence (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 5, and the "Green is not a creative colour" line), how some teachers show blatant dislike for their students (all of the teachers, even the Lamp, have shown blatant dislike for one member of the Traffic Light Trio, whether it was very obvious, or something you'd have to look into (example, Tony displayed more dislike for Duck Guy than anyone (second place would be Yellow Guy), and Sketchbook showed dislike towards Yellow Guy (covering his clown portrait in oil, and saying that his favorite color is uncreative.), how boring adult life is, especially when you can't have a bit of (sorta childish) fun, and how it seems like everyone is a clone of you, when you act the same way as everyone else (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 6) and there's probably more messages in there)), so it may be possible that they could be trying to show the changing health ideas from the media, but also how cruel meat farming is. They tend to show the crueler side of media, and education in the show, so that might be added to their messages.
By the way, I know a lot about too many things:
-I try to study British culture for the sake of my DHMIS AU.
-I tried to study pirate culture, including their language, for my other account Broken-PirateFox and FNaF AU.
-I tried to study the way people from the 1800's-1950's lived for 2 of my other DHMIS AUs (Forest Survival! AU, and Kingdom! AU)
-I study a lot of duck-related things too. XD

it does explain a lot , funny enough its suggest that ducks eat meat like chicken occasionally for protein. those wacky birds ~
but yeah its a really fattening diet and if i’m not mistaken -- ducks don’t physically know when not to eat. if offered food they will just -- keep eating.

you make a good point its a vague subject like all the episodes. ike the core message is clearly about media’s control over dieting and health trends but from there it can be broken down into literally everything.
0-0 holy hell did not realize that the traffic light was making that on purpose , i though maybe it was a throw away line to scare manny or something or suggest what would kill him i - wow.

i’ll take a look , the only other account i’ve really done hard research with is my Gregory Horror Show account and my account for SideShow Bob < i use to have one for phineas flynn and i managed to horrifically figure out that its possible Bob is phin’s biological father and the only reason its not like canon is because of copyright issues and such. >
