Ooh of course! Oh it's so exciting, I hope you love them. The best way to work in oils is to work from your darks to your lights. Because it's easier to make your colors lighter than it is to make them darker. What kind of things are you planning on painting? I'm just curious.

Also, Hopefully you have some kind of odorless paint thinner, and some linseed oil. There's other types of things you can use, but these are the basics. Just play around with consistencies. If you use more paint thinner it will dry relatively fast. But if you use a linseed oil in your paint it will dry slower.

Please, if you want any more help I'm very willing. I'd love to see your works, and give you more tips in the future.

So you would want to start out on your painting with the darker colors first? umm i would probably paint sea serpents being scared by puppets, mice with grapes, other weird stuff like that, i have an over active imagination!
hmm i need to go and get some paint thinner, luckily i have a 50% off cupon..

Hi!

Okay, what I would recommend for starting off is to maybe do a really simple still life of an apple or something, and try it in black and white first. Or monotone (black white and another color of course, yellow ocre looks nice usually). That way you get the feel of the paint, and you understand how it blends, and values and everything.

I wouldn't recommend painting some of my paintings to get started, because it's not always easy understanding how things are done in it. THere are a lot of books about oil painting, probably some in your local library. I did a few master copies before, and they teach you a lot, but it would probably just be better to start off simple. That, and I am not a master painter...haha, so if you do do a master copy, you should learn from a true master!

Yeah, try to get Turpenoid, and you'll need something to clean your brushes in. Turpenoid is better because the chemicals kinda stay there...but if you don't get the semi healthy for you kind, you must have ventilation...so be careful. Some people even paint without it, one teacher here just wipes his brushes really well on a cloth, and works very dry. (I was in his class, and I found it frustrating).

Okay enough blabbering. I get excited to help people out. I hope this does help you...oh and one last thing, if you do do a still life, you should definitely make your own lighting. Dont' just leave the florescent kitchen light on it...like my apples still life, I used a very strong yellow light, and made sure that the shadows looked a certain way, and that the composition is right. LIghting is one of the most important things that i"ve learned here.

my essay is in for tuesday the 16th of novemberrrrrrrrr...
grrrr at it.
i still dont understand it.
i will probably end up doing it the night before, at like, 3am or something
like with my ethics essay.

as for music, i like a lot of stuff.... basically i like practically everything
apart from rubbishy trance/dance/techno kinda music and marilyn manson gothy type music...

Pretty much the same over here. lol thats how i get most of my school work done, the night before the teacher comes, i am up till 4am with instant coffee and jumping jacks to keep me awake.

If you get really far into it, it will be less about God creating the world so like stick to the first few chapters, otherwise its starts in on Moses, Noah, and Joseph too i think. you want to stick with the adam and eve or before that part.

Yeah on Genisis you will want to read up to chapter 2 verse 15 or around there, after that it goes on about adam and eve, so is it supposed to be on how God created the world? the order on which he created the world? or on your understanding on how he created the world.
