You do have a valid point, in that, there are countless insipid artists who merely ape all of the manga and anime they see.

On the other hand, an artist needs some original inspiration to start from, yes?
As in, what first got you drawing?
For me, it was this one book, "The Elizabethan Zoo." Then Voltron and The Real Ghostbusters gave me a big push. I'll be truthful: I've, shall we say, appropriated various ideas from some of the mangas I've read and some of the anime I've seen. Mind you, though, I've done my best to file off the serial numbers of aforementioned ideas, and manipulate them until I feel I've made them my own.







And while we're on the subject, I love and adore the original Voltron, but I hate and despise the remake of Voltron with an infernal passion... I want to beat those people responsible for remaking Voltron with the lousy computers they animated it with.
