Thank you for your awesome compliment. May your son shine forever.

I'm not much of a car person, but your photos are very beautifully colored and I like the perspectives and composition. Some of his talent must've rubbed off on you

Paul,
You asked how you get a start in the photography business. First, you need to decide what kind of photography you want to specialize in. There are many different areas like portrait, journalism, wedding, advertising etc. And if advertising is where you want to go then what type of advertising photography? There's product, fashion, architecture etc. Unless you live in a very small town where photographers shoot everything then you will need to specialize in one area if you live in a big city.

Once you make that decision it might be a good idea to take some classes at the local university or trade school in the field that interests you. There is more to it than meets the eye; you will need to know this stuff. As you go through school you can start putting together a portfolio (called a 'book' in the industry). Your book is what you will take around and show samples of your work to the people who will be hiring you .

Talk to some folks at the local schools in your area. They can best advise you what you need to learn and what to do before you start selling yourself in your particular field.

Good luck, man.
