I had a question? I was wondering if our work for the calender would be alright just to be inked? I like color but I just thought black a white set the mood for my drawing. if not that is fine as well. Just wanted to know my options.

If it was for one of the monthly spots, I might be ok with it, since you are right, sometimes B&W is better. However, since those spots are filled, and you wold be going for the cover, it would be more attractive to buyers if it were colored. However, if you wish to purchase one of the personal calendars....where the only piece featured is YOUR work and all 12 months on a single page, you are more than welcome to leave that anyway you want it.

I didn't know anything about the personal calenders. I really just wanted to know what you were looking for. I love black and white because I can get more detail with it. but I also know more people respond to color. I was planning on using colored pencil. will that be ok?

The personal calendars are something I was able to introduce so that those that didnt get in, could still get something with their work on it. Trust me, I totally understand the B&W thing. There is some work, especially the dark and gritty stuff that is just BOOMIN in B&W. ie: Frank Miller stuff. However, like I said, if it was an inside piece, no problem, but for a cover bid, I think color is the best route. You are welcome to use color pencils. Or if the issue is you need a colorist, I am one, and I am sure I can find one as well. your choice.

I think since you are in the competition, it would be best if I didnt help. dont want to be seen as swayed if you win, or have it be personal if you dont. Know what I mean?
