Well, hello... I also like action movies pfft!!! Lots of women like chess and computer games, damnit!
I liked your gallery, particularly the two you happen to have on this page. Your sunsets are lovely, too. I noticed a chess board photo, do you play too?
Ps. The toothfairy and the bunyip are real and alive!

yeah - chess is cool. gets you thinking and really reveals personality I reckon. but I am not super at it - just play for fun.

In what way do you see it revealing the personality?
Im not that great at it, I just play for fun too. Im really keen to get one of those triple decker one's like they play with on Star trek....naturally Id like to play that with Data

he he. is that 3d chess you mean ? I never played that, but it looks challenging to say the least. revealing personality, well for example which pieces you prefer to use - people who use their queen alot, people who like the knight which comes at everything differently, people attacking without regard for losses etc. I play cautious mostly, let other people move first and back everything up. ordered chess. I played on yahoo chess briefly - but people there seem to always pretend to be more useless than they are to improve their stats.

Just btw, what did you think of the ending of lost in Translation?

fickle-follower In reply to Aquiel [2004-09-04 10:02:53 +0000 UTC]
excellent topic. at the time I felt a little lost, like the director had left me out on the street with her, but pretty soon I came around. I think it would have spoiled the experience if anything permanent had resulted out of their meeting, and the movie I reckon was also half about watching the city rather than them. it was essentially somehitng that can only happen in a foreign city and those things can't be brought home. or something like that.

Well said, I think you've articulated it well enough to shift me abit, I was partly disappointed by the ending, I thought there was alot of "undertow" sexual tension between Bill? and Scarlett.... It's the first movie I think I've EVER liked him in. I know I wouldnt have been happy if they'd got together, either, but I didn't feel it was finished. I DIE for closure, but... you know, I just realised that life's not like that is it. So, hehe... maybe now I can be happy with how it ended

fickle-follower In reply to Aquiel [2004-09-04 10:11:39 +0000 UTC]
yeah - the undertow was strong - and I know what you mean about closure. but leaving it open like that creates more possibilities, and freedom for them both somehow, or something.

hmmm. difficult one. have to include The Big Lebowski, Lotr, and after that it gets murky. hard to name a top five, but in my top 20 would be - punch drunk love, died with a felalfel in his hand, Adaptation, the good the bad and the ugly, fight club, matrix, thats some of them...
