Haven't looked through your gallery YET but just wanted to say THANK YOU for owning the crazies over at Conservatoons so thoroughly! It's a real treat to see, and kind of relieving too, after hearing their fanatical beliefs spewed all over all mediums of entertainment without ever being challenged or even slightly questioned.

Marzipanzers In reply to countconkula [2014-01-17 01:45:19 +0000 UTC]

The objective of a political argument is for two or more sides to try to convince each other that their views are correct.  I didn't see any owning from anybody.  I saw write fifty paragraphs basically going 'conservatives are big meanies!'  and responding to everything with 'no hippies please' over and over again...

Neither side did convince the other.  Therefore, there's no 'owning'.

fernfrondllama In reply to Marzipanzers [2014-01-22 09:06:30 +0000 UTC]

So, because Conservatoons refused to engage in a discussion, we just assume my arguments weren't effective?

I provided material, and the opposing side provided zilch...and yet it's somehow a draw. I call bullshit, friend.

Marzipanzers In reply to fernfrondllama [2014-01-22 13:56:26 +0000 UTC]

To assume isn't a wise thing to do.

Your arguments didn't need Conservatoons' replies to be effective.  One can easily make a very valid point from the beginning.

To be honest, what I see from these arguments is mostly just whining and complaining.  I'm just offering criticism here.

But if it isn't a draw, then what was the objective of the political discussion?

Owning? Really?

fernfrondllama In reply to Conservatoons [2014-01-22 09:08:23 +0000 UTC]

Hey, if you want folks to stop questioning whether or not your political ideas can stand on their own two feet, maybe you should reply to people with more than "no hippies please."

You make political art and generally offensive claims, yet when pushed to defend your views...you shrivel away like a limp dick.

no hippies please.

fernfrondllama In reply to countconkula [2011-09-01 23:04:50 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no problem. Arguing with them is pretty easy. They just barf up soundbites and fail to ever make a cogent point. Getting them to concede defeat on any subject is completely impossible though. They are drones through and through.

I really wish Conservatoons himself would actually own up to his bullshit obsession with bashing liberalism with more than a less-than-witty retort and "no hippies please" when someone honestly challenges him. His posse of idiots seem to do that for him adequately enough, but I'm more interested in the brain behind such inane political commentary and artwork.

They are all intellectual cowards, and running circles around them is fun as hell.

Anyways, I'm glad my efforts are well-received! And thank you for joining the fray as well! If you ever do get a chance to go through my gallery, I hope you enjoy.

countconkula In reply to fernfrondllama [2011-09-02 06:27:19 +0000 UTC]

lol, "no hippies please" is his usual "universal argument" (it eloquently refutes absolutely everything you say without having to rely on silly liberal/Communazi facts), though lately he's been branching out a bit and offering a few sparse sentences of his own, although they're equally ridiculous.
The guys over there are mostly funny, but some things are somewhat aggravating, i.e., randomly co-opting guys like Jesus and Martin Luther King to their ideology.
But oh well. lol.

Besides all that, though, your gallery is cool! I'm not much of a photographer myself, so I might not be the best critic, but yours are really impressive. They make me nostalgic for all of my trips to Northern California/Oregon. The landscapes/atmospheres/characters you capture in your photogs are pretty awe-inspiring.

Thanks!
Yeah, I spent a couple years living in Brookings, OR right on the OR-CAL border on the coast, and fell in love with the ocean and redwood forests. It really is my favorite region of the country I've come across so far. Western Washington and the Rockies of Idaho/Montana/Wyoming are great too.
Where in Northern Cali/Oregon did you spend your trips?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

countconkula In reply to fernfrondllama [2011-09-04 15:01:31 +0000 UTC]

I actually only clearly remember one trip from last year, driving up along the coast of California, and stopping for awhile in the Redwood Forests. I should've paid more attention to the particulars of the geography: I can't completely piece together exactly where I was, but the scenery along the coast and in the redwoods was amazing.
I've made the trip before, but when I was much younger and totally absorbed in my GameBoy.
In Oregon I have even less experience in the wilderness, since I was in Portland the entire time visiting family, but we would occasionally go on walks though some of the small woodlands within the city, which was pretty cool as well.
Even the small woodland scenery impressed me, though, probably because I'd spent much of my life til then in San Diego, and was primarily used to Mediterranean-style scrub and semi-arid/semi-desertified climates for a long time.

I liked your comment on Conservatoons. I'll give you the response that he says he won't, so we can both feel better about stumbling on his moronic page: "liberal liberals that liberal liberal! Liberals!"

fernfrondllama In reply to MichaelCleaves [2011-05-24 23:45:04 +0000 UTC]

Heh, thanks. Damn, what a piece of work that guy is.

I'm thinking he's figured out that if he opens his mouth up with an actual response to a challenger, he'll get demolished logically, and it hurts his pride...hence the non-replies from himself and loyal supporters.

I just can't stand someone who is outspoken and opinionated through their publically accessible art and statements...but won't defend them in a public arena.

MichaelCleaves In reply to fernfrondllama [2011-05-25 01:52:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, dishonesty is that side's forte nowadays. I would have posted something, but a guy like that gets to believing what he believes by ignoring most of what other people tell him, so there's no point in telling him more stuff he won't listen to. Groan!

kargaroc586 [2009-09-13 19:56:24 +0000 UTC]

how come every view of the future i read (especially ones recently made) depicts a dystopian world?

i like to avoid works that depict dystopias.
they are depressing.

why doesn't somebody advance humans in a good way instead of killing them off? it would be better.

Oh, and i wanted to include that a planet twice the size of earth (like your huge earth planet) would have twice the gravity.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fernfrondllama In reply to kargaroc586 [2009-09-14 20:27:21 +0000 UTC]

If you find future timelines depicting dystopia depressing, than you might want to stop following my timeline and other future timelines.
It's a common theme because "making humans better" doesn't fit in line with the habits of our species. It is more unlikely, even if a more attractive scenario, that we will create a utopian future. There are nearly 7 billion of us now, on a world with dwindling resources and ever increasing conflict. It seems more likely that war or environmental cataclysm will be a central part of humankind's future.

Also, the planet would only have twice the gravity if it was twice as massive, not just twice as large. If the planet is half as dense, it would have roughly the same gravity as Earth.

Why do you have such an obsession with riding giant birds and attempting to critique my work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kargaroc586 In reply to fernfrondllama [2009-09-14 22:01:28 +0000 UTC]

I am gonna die, but everything i love dearly (including all birds, especially large birds) will die first, and i will be forced to see it. you don't see, that experiencing that would be almost as bad as going to hell itself.

as for the thing about riding giant birds, that's just a part of me. i have loved huge birds for as long as i can remember.
