And guess what? None have actually submitted a thing. In fact, for all I know, none have even started reading...well, except for one that said as much. I just keep looking at the new Fate Stay Night things that get posted, and when something catches my eye, I shoot the author an invite. I figure I keep doing that, maybe someday I WILL get something. It would be nice >_<

Don't get too downtrodden. I started reading your fanfic and researching the characters on wiki. I've come up with an idea but, it may take a few days before a sketch is done. The idea deals with the fight scene of chapter 1. Once I get the sketch done i'll let you know! I hope it lives up to your standards.

well so far i have read through chapter 2. its taking me awhile to read it all because i have to try to understand everything thats happening without having the anime/VN/games to use as a base(that would take to long)

Well, unless the genre doesn't appeal to you, I actually recommend the Fate Stay Night anime for its own sake. I don't even think of this as waiting anymore anyway. It's a suspended but continued possibility. But of course, however you want to do it.

Well from what my friend tells me the VN is worth taking the time to checking it out but i havn't done so yet

The VN's reputation is huge, but the anime is often overly underrated by VN players. It is quite strong and enjoyable on its own. If you cannot see yourself devoting the seventy plus hours of gameplay the VN will take, you really could do a lot worse than to spend twelve hours on the twenty four episode anime.

Well I took a look at the anime, first three episodes, and I have to say that helped form a personality for some of the characters and episode three explained alot of background info that was helpfull; and the anime was pretty good too.

I'm most happy because the way you were doing it was not only a heck of a lot more trouble for you, it was spoiling you for the original story in whatever form you might have chosen to sample it. This way I feel better. Plus you'll probably do a better job; I never wrote the story to form impressions from the ground up. I mean, it is a fanfic.
Oh, a few notes though. Remember how much later it is. I'm not sure when I started slipping into the 'factor of five' trap, but it was supposed to be six years in advance. Still, even five years...a few things to remember.
For everyone: Obviously, everyone has aged somewhat. You can use Archer as a reference for Shirou to some extent. Eyes should shrink: Shirou's and Rin's should be normal sized no matter what; I'd prefer it for all of them in fact, but I suppose you could leave Arturia's a bit large if you want, and a bit larger for Sakura and Illya. Outfits will have changed: none of their original default clothes would fit a twenty one year old, or who they've become. Shirou especially.
For Shirou: As I said, normal sized eyes, or else. Give him a different haircut, the anime one is too juvenile. He's not a wanna be anymore, he's a powerful young warrior to be reckoned with: underestimate him at your peril. Again, Archer's model will work nicely.
For Arturia: Unless explicitly stated otherwise (in that first fight scene, for example, I specifically mentioned that she did not take the time to change out of her skirt, which she wore expecting to be on vacation), Arturia is wearing shirt and pants. She's a product of the modern military now. Of course, that should have meant her sporting a crew cut or some other short job but I couldn't bring myself to do it. However, her hair is in a tight, simple, practical knot, not that very nice but archaic and unsuited to daily life braided mass she has in the anime. Also, keeping her character in mind, her eyes, as mentioned, should be closer to normal size, if not all the way there. I think that covers most of it. With the anime giving you background, I hope the story becomes more enjoyable and less a chore. In fact, if you finished the anime before doing anything else, I'd be happiest. I've waited this long, and I'm a quality over quantity person all the way. I hate to know anyone is reading the story without fully appreciating it.

That was really long. Anyway for Shirou, what kind of hair style and colthing? I mean: short or long hair (how long), style of clothing: something more like armor and cloth (think archer-->[link] or ANBU-->[link] ) or something like a trench coat (think Ibiki from naruto), modern or fedual Japan colthing
My idea revolves around Shirou and the more detailed the description the easier it is to match what you want. Also the 5 years is AFTER the anime, right?
