Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.

The last one...it doesn't look as sharp because of the blue glow/filter I used, but I'm glad you liked it nonetheless.

The silence of the womb and your narrator's desire to reclaim it are what insired me to mention Derrida, by the way.
And yes, the inspiration for the journal comes from these quarters. The numbers are the numbers of the chapters in the Tao Te Ching, from both the Ma-wang-tui transcripts and the previous standard text.

OK, here's the quick version. Derrida is a modern French philosopher who puts forth a theory of the deconstruction of language. His research of Plato's dialogues (and other Greek works) revealed a hierarchy of communication. At the pinnacle is "a silent dialogue of the soul with itself." There is no possibility for misunderstanding in such a dialogue. Next comes verbal communication, which allows for the speaker to clarify his perspective in the event a listener misunderstands. Last is written word, which allows for erroneous interpretation without opportunity for correction. The paradox comes when considering the benefit of vast communication possible through the written word. Derrida feels that "logocentrism is phonocentrism" or that holding an allegiance to communication of an IDEA means a dedication to the oral transmission of that idea in order to save it from bastardizing readers.
That's the shortest I can make it.

It was directed at both that specific piece and the theme of your latest work. I noticed it more in that piece, so it felt appropriate to mention it. That piece was distinctly female in its reading, and I think water tends to bring out a certain softness in everyone. Water is the most powerful element, and the most humble - but don't forget the unhewn log to which Lao Tzu also frequently referred.
That's my two cents.

This is why you tickle me pink. You are the ONLY person to give a negative comment on Lazy Saturday.
But you know why I think that's cool?
Because I'm not too fond of it either...the range of positive responses flabbergasted me. All I did with that picture was make the best I could out of a bad situation. I had taken about 6 shots of those two together, and that was the best I could come up with. Maybe some moments weren't meant to be captured.

Scenes from the Black Notebook:
How do I love you, Dave? Let me count the ways.
1. Your ass is so cute.
2. You make me laugh when I need it.
3. You always have time for me.
4. You compliment me constantly, which I really do need
5. You keep me busy (wink, wink)
6. I can bring you around anybody and not worry about a fight.
7. you want me.
8. We compliment eachother, in a strange way but we do.
9. You always understand what i'm trying to say in my Nitrus moments.
10. Your killer hair.
11. You never stiff me with the check.
12. You never insist to pay for the check.
13. You like Cake.
14. You give me rides and don't mind.
15. Your wonderful singing capabilities
16. Your forgiving heart.
17. Your obsession with men - it might beat mine
18. Your love for crackheads like myself.
19. Your novelty tee's
20. You love me back!
