I don't know where you've run off to, but when you're back, would you be able to send me the link to those photos you took one time at a party, with those cool camera flash shots and pictures of people in water? I don't know if you remember

Seriously, thanks so much for all your kind comments and faves, it means so much to me. I probably would have stopped uploading after my first few paintings if you hadn't come along and told me they were good (I didn't even know what I thought of them myself at first )

well that's why the internet is for! <3
i made a pinhole camera today! but it took me 2h30. it's because i'm retarded and also i made it in a super dark bar. if i ever wake up before sunset i'll try it soon!

Yay, how's it going? I recommend you really try and be careful with your first one like I was, since it ends up being more rewarding. Don't just run around like crazy taking pictures- try to have a vision in your head of how you want them to come out, that way it teaches you that the results are always quite surprising. Then with the next one, go a bit crazier

ok thanks for the advice! also it seems to be a really wide angle and i'm never sure about the exposure time... it's super snowy there so it reflects light pretty strongly... aaah. but yeah i'm writing down notes about every shot i make so that i can compare with the results. exciteeed!

I was thinking of doing that, but I'm too lazy. Also, if you get your pics back and they're blurry or massively over exposed, then the pinhole is probably too big ;D
And I go for 1 second on a nice very bright day, 3 seconds on a not so bright day, a minute in the evening, and maybe 2 minutes capturing a place where it's dark but there are lots of lights on around.

yeah i can't count seconds very well. gaaah. i'll see. maybe i'll keep the films and scan them and edit them if the prints are not so good.

Follow the instructions here, you can buy colour film or black and white film- whichever you like. It only takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to make, and it's definitely worth it! I take mine everywhere I go in case I see something I like. And what was the book you were talking about? Sounds interesting

Oh great site! i've seen others using photo paper but this is definitely more practical! i'll do this as soon as i'll be done with my current shit. taking pictures with a can = magic.
oh, it's a book called La Zone Du Dehors, by french autor Alain Damasio, and it's kind of remarquable for its political ideas. but i'm pretty sure it hasn't been translated yet.

Yeah, I used photo paper for my first deviant ID, and it still looks quite nice! Surprised the matchbox ones aren't used more often, seeing as they are so cheap to make!
