# About me
I am 18yrs old and I am attending this Fall as a Freshman in College and will be studying Adverstising Design and Graphic Design. I love Photography,Music, Dance, and almost everything that is related to fashion and the media.I've been doing this whole hobby of editing and taking photos since about 2 years ago. I'm a beginner/amateur photograher and editor and all i know has been self taught and a learning experience along the way. I know i've got alot to learn and this is one of my other hobbies that I use to express my emotions and creativity.I think this site will help me develop as a professional and artistic person for later in life and my career. ;)Favourite genre of music: Pop,R&B,Pop/Rock

You want critique from me too? 
First of all, don't listen to what Ziggyfinish said about self portraits. Sure you learn a heck of a lot when you shoot others, but he doesn't, or it seems he doesn't, know how hard it is to shoot one self. 
Am I typing non-sense? Well, well, I'll move on, anyways.
I agree with everything else Ziggyfinish says, though. BUT, don't take too many self portraits.
Ok, 2nd time moving on. I'll say this, as an aspiring photographer, try not to overdo the editing. If you're into fashion, go for what's natural, rather than make skin look "plastic"-like etc. What I'm saying here is try not to edit so much. Edtining can ruin a photo, but also make it look better, in your case, I think you ruin them. Just a personal opinion, I guess, but I'm just being honest.
3rd & last time moving on. Play around with angles. If you have to stand on top of an enormous building & shoot, then do it. If you have to climb a tree, then frickin' do it. If your model's underwater, you go swimming too, but you need a camera that can handle water, of course. (Who said the model is the onlyone suffering?!) Also, try to either go on the internet & look at fashion photography from pros, or find a fashion mag or 2. Being inspired is important. When you think you've got a portofolio that looks more or amazing, you can think of joining modelmayhem.com. You'll find A LOT of models there, & if they like your work, they will contact you, instead of having you contact them, which can be really nice, sometimes.

Hello, you wanted some critique so here goes.
First of all don't take yourself too seriously.
Try to avoid self portraits. It is a common to use oneself since you're always available, but you'll learn and improve much more and faster if you photographer others.
"It is not for us to seek beauty within ourselves but in the reflection of others."
Oh and don't use flash, it flattens images. Find a strong light source(s) and a tripod and use the lights to give tone to the figure. If shooting outdoors shoot in the morning or evening when the sun is at an angle and the shadows are long. And learn as soon as possible how to use the manual functions on your camera (i.e. ISO, shutter speed, fstop/aperature)
