It varies greatly from page to page. A page can take anywhere from 2 hours to 40 hours, depending on a lot of factors like detail, number of mistakes, time spent testing a new technique, directional changes, and sometimes even model building. Page 3 of Whitney Vernon took between 10 and 12 hours, but an experienced artist like could knock out an even better, more detailed page in 1 hour.

Since your profile says you're looking for tips on becoming a better artist, I'll share more.

Treehouse of Contemplation took me 40 hours because I drew in all the wood grain by hand. However, part of the purpose of that was stress relief. Generally speaking, I've found that I can either advance my technique, and take a long time, or draw with what skill I have, and deliver something OK in a few hours. However, I am not yet satisfied with my level of skill, so in each of these comics, I'm advancing my technique.

If you want to be a pro artist, there is no substitute for practice. Studying the art of others, taking classes or reading tutorials or art books may be helpful, and I recommend it-- but you'll have to spend time applying whatever you learn.

You're not too old to quit, either. Ignore anyone who tells you that you're too old to learn art. If it's your passion, set aside some of your free time and go at it. It's taken me much longer than I expected to get where I am, but the only way to ensure failure is to quit trying. Happy painting, and Dragon Luck~

Wow a lot to read, thanks for the tips.
I will definitely look into it. My practices where currently on hold, because I was moving out, so I got time again. Only the read part though...my handwriting hand is injured. It gone take some time before its healed (3months).

Ik had bij invoegen pech dat het druk was. Er twee vrachtwagens en twee auto's waar ik tussen moest komen. Ik wis niet hoe ik het oplossen moest .
Plus een voorang fout. er Kwam een auto uit een verstopte weg en die zag ik te laat.
