Facebook <3
I've been pretty dandy. And lazy. *hasn't been on dA in forever, hasn't really done anything artsy in forever* I kinda miss this place, but, somehow I doubt it feels the same way. xD
I see the doctors are still agreeing, that's always a good sign. Those quacks!

It's too permanent for me. What happens when I need to hide from the law?! I CAN'T JUST DISAPPEAR FACEBOOK WILL KNOW.
Ah, me too! I'm so lazy. I got some cool gadgets over the holidays, but I haven't really been driven to try anything. I don't know what to do with myself. xD And dA never misses anyone. Cold heartless interwebz.
Sometimes they don't all agree, but if at least two of them agree with each other, I can still say that. Silly doctors.

Actually some guy tried to disappear from the world and see how long it took for people to track him down digitally and it took like 30 days or so and part of how he was caught was his Facebook logins I think lol.
Ooh what was your Christmas haul like? : D Sounds cool when you use words like 'gadgets' and 'cool' so I wanna know. 0: What is the diagnosis Dr.?!

I'm good, just finished my first photography book. And since its summer I've had so much time to take so many new pictures! Itβs been great, what about you? Howβs your summer been?
π: 0 β©: 1
doctorsagree In reply to SugarCoatedPortraits [2009-08-02 18:38:46 +0000 UTC]
Congratulations! I've never done anything like that. Well, there was a portfolio type thing which LOOKED like a book, but wasn't very good, picture quality-wise.
Summer IS good for picture-taking, isn't it? I've got a few of them I'm thinking I'll upload soonish. Vista hates my camera/me for some reason, so it's taking a while. I'll get it soon.
What kind of awesome are you conjuring up lately? Can't wait to see some of it. :3

SugarCoatedPortraits In reply to doctorsagree [2009-08-19 00:28:32 +0000 UTC]
sorry for the late reply, anyway summer is the best for new projects...but I am taking a photography class this fall, so I'll have a proper excuse for making art. Itβs for class after all. You've seen some already but there are seriously like 20 more new photos. Itβs odd I just got bitten by the creative bug. Which is nice when it happens you know? Anyway I hate Vista as well, but am to stubborn to leave my Microsoft family, so what are you gana do? Gata just deal like we've all done since what, 1995? Hope your comp is working by now, and can't wait to see what you will upload. Talk to you soon.

That's wonderful! I apologize in kind for my late reply as well. I've been so distracted and haven't had much time to write proper replies to anything.
I'm very glad you've taken an art class. It's an opportunity (as anything is) to expand your horizons and perhaps step out of your comfort zone.
I too have an unfortunate allegiance to the Microsoft family. I've heard nothing but good things about the Macs, though, and am currently the only person I know still hanging on to the PC liferaft, by what I can only describe as a fingernail and a few cramping toes.
You've uploaded some beautiful things recently. I love the blue hues you use.
Again, soon.

Heyyy, since your near the Toronto area, I thought you might wanna check this out, especially since it's free aside from the subway fare! [link] I wish I had something like this near me (We have a sketchy bus system but that's it) Even if I could just get some hints and tips from these guys, because they actually teach classes.

I'm a horrible drawerererr. Really, my sketches are terrible. I'd feel so out of place there! Thanks for letting me know about it though. I'll keep it in mind in case my self-esteem ever gets a bit too high. It's bound to happen eventually.

Haha, you underestimate yourself! But don't let that keep you from posting your drawings on dA!

Mostly, I consider myself a photographer. Anything else I do art-wise is just... I don't know, playing around with the tablet and trying new things. Self-improvement. You know.
π: 0 β©: 1
malevolentmemory In reply to doctorsagree [2009-07-15 01:01:29 +0000 UTC]
I'm still at odds with the tablet... I took a break from it for my own sanity. Self-improvement be hanged for all I care right now. One of these days when I can actually focus on it I'll give it a whirl again.
Out of curiousity... So would you buy one of those super expensive Canons/Nikons and a bunch of lenses? Do you run around with the camera all the time?
π: 0 β©: 1
doctorsagree In reply to malevolentmemory [2009-07-15 19:41:21 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. I've been forced to make friends with my tablet since my scanner decided my new computer was too smart for it. I can't scan anything now, so any art is 100% computery now. I agree on the self-improvement front. Sanity is too precious to chuck over that crap.
Oh, I have one. I have a Nikon D50, and two lenses. I haven't got one of those giant zoom lenses, but I inch up the ranks slowly. I usually run around with it. If you have a camera bag it's really quite easy. Lately I haven't run around with it, since the memory cardchipthang is full and backing up all those full-sized pictures is going to be a nightmare. I could always just delete everything, but that'd be a shame. If only I had another card.
π: 0 β©: 1
malevolentmemory In reply to doctorsagree [2009-07-15 20:32:42 +0000 UTC]
Speaking of silly scanners, I have to turn on my dad's comp, scan my pics to my flash drive, then come back down to my comp and make it look respectable. Orrrr I can work out a system of textbooks, lights and the camera to try and take a halfway decent photo of my drawing... either way it's a pain-in-the-butt situation >.>
Ooooh, next on your shopping list should be a mega-huge external hard drive for storing pics, that would be handy. Plus a new card lol. And besides, you need to upload more photography, it's been a while!
π: 0 β©: 1
doctorsagree In reply to malevolentmemory [2009-07-16 19:03:37 +0000 UTC]
I hear ya. It's a pain either way. My mum has that all-in-one dealie and the only thing that works on it is the fax and no one ever uses that so it's annoying.
I've been thinking about external drives, actually. And a new card, of course. You know, maybe I should get moar monies first.
And I agree! It has been a while. TOO LONG.
Perhaps eventually it'll all be an easier process.

malevolentmemory In reply to doctorsagree [2009-07-16 21:20:20 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah, my dad has a Dell Aio(?) All-in-one thing too... it's turned me against ai1's for ever and a day.
Have you tried photography for money? Any small local art shops you could sell to perhaps?
They should make some sort of dA thing that analyzes your upload and lists appropriate galleries to load to. Cut our work by half
π: 0 β©: 1
doctorsagree In reply to malevolentmemory [2009-07-17 17:48:51 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. They're really confusing.
I have actually had people offer to buy some prints from me, but I never took it too seriously. I suppose I could, though. There are lots of local art expos and things... little competitions. I just don't really have a lot of saved versions of my older stuff, so it'd all be one stupid size. xD
That would be helpful! Although you know there'd be issues with it. You'd get cosplay pictures loaded into snapshots and random stuff like that.
