To answer you question, I realy love Sargent (even thogh I'm not sure if he would qualify as an old master), Other than that Leonardo was a genious, Alma-Tadema was breathtaking. But I could give you a list with a thousand names of the old masters that inspire me What about you? Who's your favorite?

Peter Paul Rubens all the way ! Followed up by Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Claude Lorrain. I keep watching and trying to reproduce their work on a weekly base cause they were so great. *might use Rubens as our History project.*
