It was actually an odd coincidence, but I'm glad. c: I've been good; I'm a little freaked out recently, because I'm going to Nicaragua with the Mayo Clinic on a medical brigade. We're leaving on Tuesday, so it's almost here and ahhhh. How've you been, dear?

oh wow, that's so exciting! what an amazing experience. i'm doing well, incredibly nostalgic at the moment. i went on the old assia proboards and poked around. i can't believe it was five years ago! i'm a photographer now, still trying to figure my life out, and going to bali in november. :3

thanks! I'm actually pretty excited despite being kinda nervous. I find myself checking the proboards sometimes too, even though any chances of reviving it in any way are pretty close to zero. :/ Bali is really exciting though! Going for touristy reasons?

i think it's natural to be nervous. (: it'll be wonderful though. it's so unfortunate that avidgamers... then acornrack... then spleafnet crashed. i would love the idea of assia coming back, but i don't know if it would be sustainable. most of the members are "grown up now," while back then we were kids in school with so much time on our hands. it would be amazing to have that community again though. i'm going to bali with a bunch of photographers, some from dA (pretty-as-a-picture). in summer. i'm going to melt.

Yeah. The sad thing is that I know that even if something like Assia popped up again, I wouldn't join it; not because I'm not interested anymore but as I've gotten older, my willingness to put myself out there and join new sites has deteriorated to nothing. The people who would be the lifeblood of it now would be so different. The community was a unique thing and I don't think it's possible to replicate.
On the other hand, I will certainly understand what you're talking about by the time I'm in Nicaragua, cause the forecast is set for the mid 90s and high chances for rain the entire time I'll be there. Wet AND hot! Double the fun!

mhm, too true. if-- somehow-- a bunch of us got together and re-created assia, i would have to join. i never was very active at the actual roleplaying part and i doubt that would change, but having that community was just so wonderful. being able to log onto a site and be surrounded by friends and happy chatter is something that i would gladly welcome back into my life. i am actually considering roleplaying a character or two (if i can find a good site), just because i barely write any longer and the practise would be nice.
oh gosh, that's gross haha. i was in georgia last summer during the heat wave and it was SO muggy and SO hot. you could swim through the air.

I would join too, but I certainly wouldn't be able to run it. being made a moderator was a huge honor for me at the time, but I'd never want to be an admin. I don't know of many people who still would be around and would be up to the task of recreating it. the creative outlet and the community though? now that would be beautiful.

not to mention that being an admin this time around would be so much harder because they would be working from scratch. only long time rp'ers would have any what the road to assia was. there would be no following. and then building the site! it was so long ago, i don't even remember most of what was there. it would be a huge task.
i saved most of my posts and graphics from the assia days. it's so funny to look back through them haha.

Dunno what's worse, the fact that I know which sy-fy original movie is, or how improbably it is.
