You commented on how grainy my photos were. I dont think its the camera or my lenses, I think maybe its where i get them developed or the film i buy. if you can tell me a good 35mm film it would be very much apreciated.

I'm sorry, I'm not using myself films, so I will not be very helpfull on the question about film brand.
An other question to ask, is this: how do you "numerize" the pictures ? Are you scanning the photos, scanning the negatives, or do you ask a developpment laboratory to do that ?

I scan the prints at like 300dpi, is that bad or should I use another method?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
dbug In reply to o0seph0o [2003-09-16 08:07:03 +0000 UTC]
Well, 300dpi is not very accurate considering you are scanning photos. It also depends of the native resolution (in dpi) and definition (number of bits for color information per pixel) of your scanner.
If your scanner is able to do 1200 dpi, try to scan once at 300 dpi, then a second time at 1200, and then resize the second picture so it has the same size than the first one, and compare the two pictures.
Of course you need to use a smart resizing (like bicubic or bilinear filtering), not a straight pixel resize that would create awesome blockyness...
Another important thing (at least on my own old scanner, ymmv) is to scan in color instead of black & white/grey scale.
You can still convert to grey sacle after if you wish.
It's all a mater of trying until it seems perfect

WOW. Thank you so much for the comments you made on Technolust [link]
I appreciate the time you took to write that up for me! And yes, hehe, I know the picture has some problems.. I find integrating pictures to be a bitch sometime. I gave it a look over beforehand and some simple efects would blend it together better.. but for this time I wanted to keep the original colors and sharpness going. Perhaps sometime in the future I can remake that picture? who knows?
Thank-you!
