MAN you just got 1000000 times cooler! I love your writing so much, and can't wait to see more from you!

As for deadmau5 and Daft Punk..i really never would have thought you the type to like artists like them but AHH i'm glad you do! Please pardon my obsession with deadmau5 XD Hes just so.....not superficial...and so..not like David Guetta hahaha. But lets not get me started on music because..well..this message is already somewhat long XD and I don't know how much you're willing to read.
Thanks so much for the watch I appreciate it ;D

Willing to read as much as you type at me! I used to have a minor Deadmau5 obsession when he came out with "For Lack of a Better Name" - then I got his discog and listened to everything over and over haha. I have a much bigger obsession and attachment to Daft Punk's music, like "Something About Us", "Digital Love" and "Emotion" - all very trippy but amazing tracks. My main obsessions are toward the artists Infected Mushroom, and Joe Hisaishi - kind of a huge spectral difference but I love them both equally.

And I really appreciate your kind words about my writing, didn't expect it haha. Thank you very much! There's certainly more to come, and sorry for all the negativity and dramatic stuff in them - but that's what it consists of I guess for the most part.

dancejunkIE In reply to Please-Help-Im-Alive [2012-03-21 01:55:12 +0000 UTC]

YAY that is GREAT news

My obsession with Joel/deadmau5 (whatever you know him by..im assuming deadmau5. Lets go with that.)..has diminished. I think its because he's been a lot less active, and I've out listened all of his music. Even the songs that you can only find on soundcloud. He ustreams less often, but nonetheless I fall back in love with him after watching him XD See..I don't just admire him for his music, its his personality as well. But because I don't get to witness it enough..its like growing apart from a friend you haven't seen in ages.

Daft Punk makes such groovy music ahh man I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me XD When Kanye took harder better faster stronger..and EVERYONE I KNEW recognized it as his original work..i wanted to slap both Kanye and my friends. And even worse..when I showed my friends the Daft Punk version, they hated it. I dunno...I have something strong against all these artists taking older songs and putting them into theirs. Like Rhianna's "Red Lipstick"..She took the intro from Metallica's Wherever I May Roam. I have no idea why..but I can't listen to it without feeling the urge to scream. Back to Daft Punk though...I can't get enough of the song "Make Love" even though its basically the same thing, its the same AWESOME thing over and over I could listen to it all day. Something About Us is one of my favorites as well...OH AND Around The World ;D ahaha so so good. I recommend this [link] its my favorite way to listen to Daft Punk It creates an atmosphere that I just adore

Joe Hisaishi, awesome I could always go for some classical. From what I've learned by looking at videos and such..he did the music for Spirited Away? (I've yet to watch it) I love his arrangements I'm glad you mentioned him because now I have something knew to listen to over and over XD.

Infected Mushroom..me gusta. >:3 I have a huge variety of musical preferences going on. From Metal to Celtic to Classical to Electronica/House/Dubstep. I've always been in love with saxo house, and am happy to see more of it coming out lately. BTW if you like Daft Punk and Deadmau5 I recommend Glitch Mob. ...but yeah! Did you know that Infected Mushroom was a propaganda book for children used by Nazi Germany to influence fear and hate for the Jewish population? You probably did, but just in case you didn't..noww youu knowww :3 ANYWAYS yeah! I'm going all over the place here.

Don't be sorry for the negativity..its actually what drew me to your work XD I've been going through a rough patch...well it seems like a never ending abandoned gravel road..so your work really appeals to me in ways that make me appreciate it deeper than just enjoying the style and structure of it. But your writing is really great, so when I come out of my little situation I think I'll still really like it because you really are an awesome writer

Thank you for a lengthy response! I need more full-on conversations like this in my life, let alone my dA page.
I knew Deadmau5 first as Deadmau5, then Joel Zimmerman - I've checked out everything on his SoundCloud (I have one myself, I'll put a link in my profile and deliver you one personally haha.) and I'm waiting for the release of "The Veldt" - a track I watched him work on on his streaming site (Which I think works through uStreams servers anyway.)

But yes, he has times of detachment to his fans and it is bothersome - however I do feel he is more connected to his fans than basically anybody out there, other than maybe some of the very unknowns - but he's mad famous, and still pays as much attention to his (adoring) fans as possible (without getting in the way of his own personal life) so I can really appreciate it, regardless. I know that drifting from a friend feeling, but because of the literal, actual sense hahaha. It happens though.

About your new artists taking/sampling old songs and re-making/completely re-doing them is both slightly good, and near completely horrible to me. Stronger, "by" Kanye is a disgrace. However, I can't be too upset with him or I'd have to be upset with Daft Punk for the same reasons - most of (not all of) Daft Punk's music is made up of samples from old disco/funk tunes, and love songs. Robot Rock is a sampled version of Release The Beast by Breakwater, a very old band (that is totally funky as hell.)
And about Rhianna... And any other pop star/diva - they all annoy me, and they all have my pity for having such controlled and surveilled lives. That's how I look at it at least. And when they re-make a song (I usually like Madonna, but her re-make of "Gimme Gimme Gimme" by ABBA, entitled "Hung Up" was ... disgusting, if you know the original by ABBA)

Infected Mushroom and Joe Hisaishi are my two main inspirations. Joe Hisaishi wrote and conducted most of the music in Studio Ghibli's films, such as what you mentioned; Spirited Away, along with Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind and The Cat's Return - all spectacular films and only a few of them listed here. I'm a massively huge fan of Studio Ghibli, and the work that every member of their team does within the studio. Miyazaki's timeless storytelling of pure love and honesty is what attracts me in that way, and then Hisaishi's pure perfection of minimalistic classical/orchestra is a massive part. Music = a big part of life for me, so yeah.

The way I know of how Infected Mushroom got their name, is that they "stole" it from a local garage band that had well.. disbanded. They are from Israel, so the fact that the name Infected Mushroom (presumably also used in english form at the time) came from their home town is very interesting. I read a semi-lengthy bio on them about two years ago and remember most of the main points
However, I did not know there was a book of that name to go toward propagating hate and violence, but it adds a very interesting twist to their presence in music (Infected Mushroom, of course. I couldn't march to Nazi beats even if my very being were created to do so. Too much hate and mindless killing, etc etc.)

And I feel I have to be sorry for the negativity - but with my problems comes an extreme feeling of well, seemingly random guilt. I feel I may put a damper on somebody's otherwise wonderful day if they stumble across, and get through some of my writing. I know some of it -is- positive, but the negativity in my writing far outweighs the positive though I suppose it's all what the reader takes from it. If you like what I write, then I'm extremely happy - I just apologize if it's ever made a day worse for you.

But hey, I've heard it from just a few people here on dA that my writing is good, or awesome, or great or whatever - and I appreciate it endlessly. I'm surprised anybody outside of my friends a la reality has read any of this, let alone enjoyed it.

Thank you again. I'm enjoying this.

MY GODDDD ASDFGHJKLASDFGHJKL THIS BREAKWATER BAND!!!!!! SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!! I LOVE IT! The 80's music time frame or whatever has to be my favorite The song I Ran by A Flock Of Seagulls is one of my absolute favorite songs. As well as Whip It by Devo (..haha yeap). I have to disagree with Hung Up..I actually liked the way she remade the one part she took from ABBA..the song as a whole doesn't really appeal to me, but just that one part does. I don't like Madonna..i don't know why but I just don't. Her voice is annoying XD. Music these days...ugh. I hate the impression its putting on people. Its "fuck bitches..get money" and I hate it on so many different levels. First off...its all about "Fucking Bitches" now, and from what I've observed with the couples in my high school...it really does seem to be about "fucking" their "bitches" and it disappointing me to see it. Its more disgusting to see actually...Its destroying the whole "Love" aspect of it all. Maybe I'm just too serious about things...But I think people in my grade (grade 11) and above should grow the fuck up. I'm sick of hearing stupid shit spew from their mouths every single day. I want to smack them all. Sorry but...really :l I hate it so much.

Annyways.."The Veldt"..I remember a short story I read with the same name. HAHA and it was in Language Arts class...and I have to make a movie poster as a project and I put "Joel Zimmerman" as the director. ahh...that LA class was hell on earth though XD.
I was going to watch/listen to him make it as well...but I went to Edmonton to do a music festival with my old Concert Band, who needed a first Clarinet. So I drove 5 hours just to play with them again :') ahh it was great. But I regret not being able to witness deadmau5 create another song :<

Yeah send me your soundcloud! I don't make any music. I tried..but I just don't have enough knowledge about it...so I just piss myself off with my ignorance XD

Yeah its what I love him for. He doesn't shield his life from everyone...he's one of the very few famous artists that embraces their popularity as part of their life. I really love it when he Ustreams XD He's so fucking funny i just can't get enough of him.

Wow XD I admire your knowledge about Joe That's impressive to me that you know all of that. I really enjoy Infected Mushroom's music. Except for the song "I Wish"...that song literally frightens me hahaha. But yeah! I'm all for Infected Mushroom's style/genre..they make some of the most unique music i have ever heard I love that they don't sing in English. I'm so sick of the English language XD I mean..I spoke French for 4 years but then lost it because I live in Alberta and barely anyone speaks french. The only reason I could speak it was because I took it in school. But yeah. So I have resorted to teaching myself Swedish..hahah. It's a really great language, and I love it so much

Back to music. Music is a big part of my life as well. *in a childish voice* "When I grown up I'm going to be a Band Instructor " haha. But yeah...that truly is my goal. Ever since last year when my old school started up a band program XD So yeah! It's basically about to become my life.

Yeah :l I wish I could read an English translation of the book so I could see what they said about the Jews in it. I am ALL FOR equality when it comes to racism. Its an issue I dwell over so often..its kind of sad really XD. How popular is Infected Mushroom? I think I heard of them before I discovered them...but I really haven't looked into it.

Don't you worry about your writing bringing down my good moods. When I read you're writing I don't get sad or anything...It puts me into this sentimental state that I dunno..i kind of like it XD It also gives me different perspectives on subjects I often can't get past my own views in. I dunno...just know that it's never "made a day worse" for me at all ^^

Ahh really? I'm surprised that you don't have more watchers I notice that writers don't get as much recognition as people who draw. But I hope that you will get more views and such, because I really believe you deserve it.

And yeah! I really am to

I Ran is a great song, and Whip It... I've had a lot of people call me crazy for thinking it's an awesome song, but it simply is. The chorus is amazing.

I dealt with the same kinds of people the other day - and it was ... incredibly annoying to say the very least. The worst part is, the boys and girls here are just as bad as each other - and they say and do disgusting and incredibly stupid things. Many around this area with that same train of thought I guess you'd say. Hivemind..

It's impressive that you play a clarinet - very. I wish I could play a physical instrument properly but I can't. Thank goodness for the piano roll, or I'd be doomed to making no repeatable music. I'm apparently decent at playing keyboard/piano by ear/improv, but don't know a lick of theory - at least none I can apply to my playing. Either way, I'm glad you chose to go and play music instead of watching someone else create it - Joel may be incredibly good at what he does, and quite awesome as a person, but playing or creating music yourself is always amazing. Music should be going on constantly, everywhere. I don't understand why so many places are always so quiet. I understand some areas should remain serene, but people need to make more music and play it louder, and in more places. I dunno. A speaker on every street corner! Haha.

Personally I don't think I know very much about Joe - I'm just incredibly happy that he's alive and doing what he's doing. His music is, in my personal opinion, perfect for me.
"I Wish" is easily one of my all-time favorite tracks by Infected Mushroom. From the Trance Side (CD1) of Converting Vegetarians, which is easily one of their greatest achievements of all time if you ask me. But I love them to death. Greatest electronic music ever in my opinion.

From what I've read, they stole the name "Infected Mushroom" off of a broken-up garage band in their home town, and just went with it. But I've only read one bio on one website so I could be incorrect. Either way, that sounds like an incredibly messed up way to educate children >_> propaganda = evil. Sadly we see it every day - CNN has turned into a FOX news clone in terms of the amount of bullshit they spew but what can you do right?

That "in childish voice" thing made me giggle xD That's awesome. Music is an amazing thing to make a big part of your life.

Racism drives me crazy. I have a number of friends that deal with it often because of the area we all live in, and one of my friends is planning on moving - because of this only in part but it is still a driving factor. And Infected Mushroom is relatively popular globally - but apparently they are incredibly popular in Israel, where they came from. They're based in Los Angeles, however.

And I'm very glad it's never made your day worse - and I'll keep that in mind. Thank you again for your kind words on my work, I madly appreciate it.

I Ran has to be my favorite, I think. Even though it brings up stupid memories, the quality of the music compensates Actually...no. I can't say I Ran is my favorite...Whip It is just as awesome. Haha XD. I wish music like this didn't have to stop being produced...I think if someone tried to bring it back and did a good job..they would be really successful Lol..the video to Whip It always makes me laugh..even though I'm pretty sure its about domestic violence or something. If that is what it's about..then they did a damn good job of making it impossible to take seriously.

OH! Another of my favorite 80's songs is Down Under by Men at Work X3. I love it so much..ahh. I even learned it on guitar

And yeah :l ugh. Words can't begin to explain how little patience I have with people like that. I guess I can understand if someone was pressured into acting like that in occasional situations...but when they're obnoxious about it on their own..that's where I stop respecting that person. I can't understand why everyone is so idiotic and cruel in my school :l I actually have a theory...It's a Catholic school, so parents send their "bad" kids to the school..thinking it will straighten them out..and those kids transform the others. I think this because every time a new kid is put in my religion class they always complain with like...8 other kids who's parents, like theirs, forced them into the school because they got kicked out of the public one. So yeah..this may be why I feel like I'm surrounded with people who are nothing like me. I was actually forced into the school as well..because my parents thought the public school would be filled with people who wouldn't be "a good influence" on me. Even though my personality is pretty solidly set..and they know I wouldn't do anything that would cause them to get super upset with me..because I hate the feeling when I get into trouble. I live to please the people around me XD

And yeah..I worked really hard on learning Clarinet. Last year I would play it every single day at lunch(approx 25 mins), last block (60 mins), and after school with my old band teacher (2 hours). So yeah..I worked my ass off I was in a quartet with my old boyfriend, best friend, and girl who I call my friend..but she really just..isn't a great person. (because my boyfriend ended up liking her the whole time we where dating but that's a whole rant that I will be writing in my personal journal. That I write in Swedish so nobody can understand it..hurhur.) But yeah! Our quartet played at events in the town and such. For example...The Annual Koch Ford Easter Egg Hunt that was a fun time. I really miss being appreciated like that. Now that I've moved into a city..the band here is at a much higher level, and I'm put on 3rd Clarinet because I can't sight read grade 4/5 music :l (there are 6 levels) I don't think that's fair at all...because it doesn't take me long to get the music down. My parts usually don't matter at all :l 1st Clarinet always has the melody...Funny story..I remember one day in band, I was in such a bad mood, and was all sulky because my sound was covered up by everyone else...so I played as loud as I could. My band teacher was like "Wow Savannah..you have a good tone..and your musicality is really great! We should move you up to 2nd Clarinet!"...but she never did. Actually she did give me a 2nd Clarinet part for one of our songs we're doing for the festival...but when I thanked her for it she looked at me weird and said "Oh! Why do you have a 2nd's part? You play 3rd."....haha. I was not impressed. I'm still not. But I probably sound really whiny..like a brat who didn't get what they wanted.

And yeah! I LOVE street performers...me and my quartet where actually going to get a busking licence so we could go to Edmonton and preform on the street :3 And around town. But yeah! That's what I love about malls. They always have all this music playing..and it puts you in a mood where you're just upbeat and happy XD Well it puts me in that mood. I dunno about anyone else. It actually annoys my mom.

Really? Wow. That's like me and deadmau5. XD It's like his music was made for me.

And it really did seem like you knew a lot. I love how there are those artists who just fit into your "puzzle piece of preference" hahaha...

The intro to "I Wish" Just creeps me the fuck out..i swear. If I can get past that..then the middle stuff is pretty good. But that's awesome that it appeals to you so well...fitting into you're puzzle piece. hurhur. But yeah! I really like them a lot to! When you first mentioned them it caught me off guard I wasn't expecting that, hahah.

Hmm...well that's cool. I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't specifically chose that name for the book. Oh well though They're music is great nonetheless.

It actually reminds me of this whole issue in Alberta with "Bill 2" Where they're trying to shut down the Catholic schools..well actually I really don't know what it's about because all the teachers did was tell us their side of the story and tried to force us to go to a protest. They where literally going to take the whole student body and force them to protest down the street for a cause that nobody fully explained. Anyways...so my little brother who is 7 comes home all sad and says "We aren't going to be able to pray, or talk about God". His teacher gave her opinion on it to all of the little kids, who where to young to really form an opinion and who where so impressionable. They basically brainwashed them...and even sent a letter home to the parents telling them to go against it. I didn't agree with it at all..because they involved little children.......I do actually feel bad for everyone who was actually Catholic in the school, and is loosing something precious to them. But yeah..I didn't agree with using the kids :l that was just..not cool, to me.

And yes yes yes..what CAN we do? Nothing. Because the world is too big and we are but one XD I always believed that one person could make a difference...but every time I hold a door for someone and they act as if you're just a doorstop, I loose a little bit of that belief. Is this really how the world is? I sure hope not....ahh but anyways XD..yeah. I don't listen to the radio, or watch the news...I don't watch any TV for that matter. Every time I sit to watch it..i feel like I'm wasting valuable time. hahahah.

I'm glad it made you giggle hahah. Yeah..I'm actually kind of scared to pursue it. Everyone tells me its such an unstable career...and I know it is..but its not like I'm striving to be famous. I just want to be that cool band teacher, who actually has a serious passion for music.

Racism is the stupidest thing humans created...and yeah I've dealt with it to so I can relate to them. See...I have no idea how we can be so cruel to people. People with feelings, and hearts. it makes me so sad.

Based in Los Angeles? Hmm..that's interesting. I guess its to be expected. America being the huge output of media that it is XD

Haha, yeah! Thank you for yours as well And your welcome
