Ahaha, thanks! I saw some of your drapery animation recently and thought that looked awesome (you guys do a lot more epicer stuff imo)!
Looks like we're on the same boat now! 8D

The drapery? I'm almost ashamed of that, haha...

aw man, I wish I can understand Spanish ahaha. I guess I'll have to guess the majority of it lol ._.
Darn... I suck at clean up! You did a really, really good job on it. Our school never really gave us any heads up for clean up, kinda sucks :/

Pedro-Ferreira In reply to crystalhavens [2012-01-13 12:12:25 +0000 UTC]
Its actually Portuguese, but the important things are the videos, anyway
Yeah, we have some hard training with clean up.
But i'm guessing your school is doing the right thing, focusing more on animation itself, instead of things like cleanup, that is dissapearing, with the 2d animation

whoops! Now you see how terrible I identify languages X'D so sorry!
Hey, our teacher actually said that clean-up is one of the most important things you should learn first in animation, it's just our program doesn't want us to go that way. Cleaning up trains your brain to learn mass and volume and the earlier you learn it, the more solid your later animation will look. Not really about the industry but more about the skill set I guess.
Besides, I really envy how you guys can animate such complex characters. I can never make my characters with too much details. Even long hair sucks for me.

I completely agree with everything your teacher says, maybe you could try cleaning your drawings apart from the course...
Actually, it was very very difficult to animate a complex character like this mickey, didn't think i would be capable of... I guess you have to try first, to know what you can and can't do, haha

crystalhavens In reply to Pedro-Ferreira [2012-01-14 06:51:08 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah! That reminds me, you did manage to figure out how to cheat Mickey's ears eh?
A lot of us don't really do animation aside from homework, unfortunately. Except for 24 hour films, which are really really fun. I think I need some sort of balance between stress and freedom to keep up the working spirit. But yes, our teacher really encourage us to animate projects that are not in the course. Preferably animate homework for students who have dropped out of the course, hahah XD

Oh yeah, mickey doesn't really have a turnaround, so i had to do like they do it.
Anyway, your short animation with the cockroach is very awesome, i hope to see more of your stuff

Oh yeah, do you guys get co-op?
π: 0 β©: 1
Pedro-Ferreira In reply to crystalhavens [2012-01-19 15:59:49 +0000 UTC]
If it was for the school, no... but i got two other students to clean up mickey for me, and i also assembled 10 students to make a short movie

Ohh that's cool! I always thought co-op is more like getting an internship at a studio during summer or something, but it's good to know that you're keeping a close connection with other students. That is verrry important, yes -v-
