# About me
Hello and thanks for stopping by my gallery. I'm not sure how or what to do here so I guess I'll just introduce myself.
I'm an aspiring digital artist, can't stand the clutter/mess of traditional art, who loves fantasy and sci fi stories. I'm not a naturally gifted artist. My only gift is a kind of tenacity that won't let me quit trying to improve. I love looking around the galleries here in DA. There's a wide variety of techniques and skill levels.
I'm very excited about working on art right now. In the past my 2nd greatest hurdle when it comes to creating artwork has been frustration from a lack of consistency. (the greatest being lack of talent) I was rarely able to replicate the quality of a piece in the follow up. I've been reading a book called "Zen Guitar" by Philip Toshio Sudo that's really helping me to apply zen to my artwork. (the book's written specifically for playing guitar, but it's pretty easy to apply to anything you want) I've read several books on zen over the years but they've never really made sense before. I'm pretty sure this is because there are some big differences between the eastern and western mindsets, ie a whole different set of givens. It seems to me that Sudo applies the principles from from a western mindset or at least translates them so I can understand them. It's amazing how freedom from past mistakes and worrying about how things will be perceived by others in the future has increased my productivity.
Please feel free to critique my work, I appreciate the help figuring out what I did wrong so that I won't make the same mistake again. No comment on similar mistakes :P If you want me to return the favor you'll have to ask, I'll stop by and visit everyone who helps me out but I've learned not everyone appreciates constructive criticism as much as I do.
Try to look at the things I say in the friendliest possible way. I've got an odd sense of humor and a quirky way of looking at things, so if I say something that offends please realize that isn't my intention.
