# About me

I guess you could say that I am a science fiction writer, but I don't go too crazy into that stuff. I enjoy a large list of different genres regarding games and movies. For example: The Halo franchise will be my all-time favorite, Legend of Zelda is another one (especially Twilight Princess), Tales of Vesperia and any other Tales games, The Mass Effect Trilogy and Super Smash Brothers. For movies: James Cameron's Avatar, How To Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Source Code, Limitless, and a variety of others...( I think etc. is the word).

Honestly, I've been on this site long enough to understand that there is no excuse to create a crappy piece of work. You've seen enough out there to know that art can be made. You just have to pick up that pencil or brush and start it. Everyone has their own creative edge, including those from the logical branch.

According to one of my literature teachers, Writer's Block does not exist. I disagree. In his argument, Writer's Block was a symbol that the story wasn't good enough to continue, and therefore stating that production should stop. To me, Writer's Block is another beast entirely. When the brain is stressed or overworked, the term Writer's Block can mean that the brain is "tired of thinking."

So any writers out there on this site reading this right now, if you're having Writer's Block on a story that you feel passionate about, take a nap, read a book, play a video game. Do something else to take your mind off of it for awhile before jumping back into the fray. My psychology teacher said the first couple of hours after waking up is the perfect time to write because the brain is free of logic and open to many possibilities.

Go for what you think is best for you.

Hey you just stumbled upon your work and I agree with both you and your literature teachers views on writers block I'd also like to add a bit to youre debate...

My theory is that there are two types of hurdles creative people experience:
WRITERS/CREATIVE BLOCK and WRITERS/CREATIVE SLUMPπŸ‘ˆ similar but requiring different solutions.

SLUMP-being an emotional hurdle the creator has to jump over the urge to create is there but emotional confusion is preventing the project from being done a change of routine of some sort can help like playing a game, sunshine or traveling.

BLOCK-wanting to create but nothing good is coming to mind usually because of a subconscious opinion disagreeing an example would be creating a funny scene that although enjoyable doesn't really fit into the story so much it throws off the whole feeling(verisimilitude) of the story its like a clog and cutting it out restores the flow.

This is just my opinion I am sharing from my experience and a few my author friends so its absolutely all right to disagree☺

I agree with that actually, and it makes a lot of sense. It's possible I reached a point where my everyday life is effecting my creative life (issues with friends, etc.). But yes, what you say makes a lot of sense. What I probably need to focus on is just repairing my creative mojo and just moving on. I'll do more research on the Block and Slump, but thanks a bunch for the help. I really appreciate it.

Your welcome!
I'm happy my words offered some convenience to you. It's cool that you have already started to self reflect and pinpoint the areas of your focus.
Good luck on researching and repairing your creative mojo!πŸ˜„
