It is super colorful!! I thought it tasted like fake sugar, like sprinkles I guess lol, but everyone else raved about it so w/e. XD the props is that is looks super badass considering all you did was stir in a container of sprinkles hahaha

DA thinks my birthday is in march for some reason. I recall that I used a march birthday for my alternate neopets accounts as an attempt to cheat the algorithm, so maybe that's what happened. XD

omg. I cant imagine. Well, I kinda can, cause I've spent days on a drawing, and it was just a person, no background or anything lol. But, my "days" are different time wise because, well, kids. I maybe get to draw for an hour or two a day if I forgo using my free time for a shower and stuff. XD so now you can imagine, when you see me posting a lot of pictures, that I'm probably stinky. XD

You scoundrel.  I remember printing out the permission form, getting my parents to sign it (and weren't they thrilled) and MAILING it.  Then I had to wait until I got the "you've been web-emancipated" confirmation note. 
Yeah I should have lied. 

Lol okay, then you get to imagine the dazed look on my face whenever it says I'm online.  I'm never actually at my computer for more than fifteen minutes until the end of the day.  Right now I'm working as an on-call substitute teacher (usually I'm summoned at least three times a week), an adult-ed art teacher, a private tutor, and I put in work time at a stable down the street to support my habit.  xD  My rule is that at nine o' clock, I stop all work, and anyone who tries to pry me away from my laptop gets their hand bit off.

omg. If id tried to bring the slip to my mom, she would have rolled her eyes and told me to just forge her signature. I guess that's where I got it. Haha

holy cow. How do you squeeze out any semblance of creativity after all that work??? Now I feel like a lazy whiner xD "I cant reply to roleplays tonight, I have a headache from not getting to my coffee until 10am" xD *not a real excuse. Just a silly example. I actually just spent the last few hours quilting blocks for hotpads for Xmas gifts. XD that's why I have a headache. Though it might have to do with the coffee thing, actually....

No no no that was not my intention!  D:  You aren't whining.  Woman, you have kids!  That's all you have to say, ever, to be immediately excused by any non-asshole. 
Person 1:  I work three jobs. 
Person 2:  I just finished a five-day trail ride, drove back to the barn, put away the horses, and cleaned the trailer. 
Person 3:  I have children. 
Persons 1 and 2 are immediately chagrined. 

When I'm done teaching a group of children, I get to go home, where I have a cat.  At 3:30!  Your problems are permanent (not that they're actually problems but you know what I mean). 
But in answer to the creativity thing, I set aside "art days," sometimes by doubling up other days: so if I do two jobs on Wednesday (substitute in the morning, teach art at night), Thursday I can sit down at my studio desk at 9 in the morning and leave the studio at 9 at night (breaking only for meals).  If I work one job a day, the second half of the day is still a "second shift" except that shift happens in my studio and art gets done.  Basically I block it in like it's a job.  So a day can be job and job, job and riding, job and art, or art all day.  Rinse, lather, repeat.    Obviously I'm looking to consolidate a little.

hmm, true.. true... 
my kids though... they're pretty chill most of the time. they play together. when i really start to lose my mind, i cave and put in a movie. (im really not a fan of kids being glued to tv screens... especially not at their ages, 1 & 3....) the only really annoying one is my 1 year old, but thats only because she doesnt care about me unless i try to DO something, and then she wants to sit in my lap. and bang on my keyboard. while i'm trying to write. /facepalm but if i get down and try to play with her, suddenly im the most boring thing in the world and she wants nothing to do with me.  xD

chagrin is one of my favorite words xD 

ugh, see, id i even try to think of art as a job, i completely lose my ability to do it. i tried to do commissions for a while, and it completely killed my inspiration/desire to draw. :/ idk how you do that.

Honestly I get a different kind of thrill thinking of art as a job: one, the deadline makes it a challenge, and two, I'm working for my favorite audience, that being children.    Or rather, I'm trying to cultivate imagination in children. 
...your one-year-old sounds a lot like my cat.  o_O;  (And my cat is AWESOME so that is not an insult to your kid, I swear).

i can admire that. i always fought against the concept of pursuing art as a profession, i think because i never really considered it more than a side hobby, myself, and my ability is soooo fickle. i do my best art when i am nigh on homicidally depressed (you know what im talking about), and honestly, being able to art all the time would not be worth always being the Bitch. xD you know? i was great at physical labor and thinking jobs, which is why i went the veterinary technician route. my creativity hates being bridled and directed, and i have to treat it like a cat--whatever it wants, how it wants it. xD

If you can do anything else and be happy, do not pursue art.  It's a storm of self-doubt, high pressure situations, and ego-crushing comparison contests.  I went for it only because I was sure I wouldn't be happy unless I tried it, and because I felt very strongly that I wanted to pursue a particular USE for art: that being children's illustration.  But I understand 100% what you're talking about, and honestly, now that I do 60 hour drawings, I have no time to draw/write my own stories, unless they're marketable in some way. 

There is one children's book I'm developing that is both marketable (hopefully) AND something I love, and that's the kind of occasional sweet spot that I went to school for.
