So, there's a few short snippets into my life. Unfortunately my activity on DeviantArt over the last year or 2 has been next to nothing, due to my computer breaking and me working 60 hour weeks. However now is my opportunity to get a new computer, and get cracking!

Actually Chris, I just saw it in the science fiction section and added it to my collection because it was really cool. I also liked the contrast between the bright and dark parts of the artwork.

it's really not that hard
i just get birdseye satellits photos of earth of the internet.
and use them
crop the satellite pic to a circle the same size as my planet base colour, play around with duplicating, and using other satellite pics, on different settings [eg, linear dodge, multiply etc]
and then follow Greg Martin's planet tutorial with my own adaptations
it's all practise.
