Yeah, the real path is south-west of Whiterun. If you have your back against the Whiterun stables, you just run north-east in a straigt line. You'll eventually encounter a giant's camp and the beginning of the path is near that camp. It took me 5 playthrough to figure that out.....

And they weren't just screaming. Here's an ACTUAL quote:"IK HAAT JE, TERINGMOEDER." and then the dad tried to interfere. "IK HAAT JOU OOK, TERINGVADER.
