I've actually just owned four digital pets during my childhood. One of which was a Tamagotchi. My first was a digital turtle.

Yeah? I owned about ten Tamagotchi and two Digimon virtual pets back when. I don't think I ever bought one of the little, uh, what're they... The type you're talkin' about with the turtle. If my memory's servin' me correctly, I think they had dinosaurs, too. Heh, I always seen 'em as Tamagotchi knock-offs when I was younger, so I never touched 'em.

Yup. Dinosaurs, turtles, puppies...even chickens.
Never had a Digimon but I knew someone who did. He had the Season 2 Digivice with a Renamon in it.

I bet raising a chicken would've been amusing. Raise it well so it can grow up t'be a nice dinner bucket o' chicken ...Uh, yeah, I got nothin'.
Man, I didn't have the Renamon Digivice, but I would've loved it. I think I had the one with Garurumon.

Yeah, the chickens were pretty popular. The one I had was a 3 for 1: you had an option of picking a chicken, dinosaur or penguin. I picked the penguin because they were my favorite animals back then.
But the one I loved most of all was my Tamagotchi.

I think I'd end up pickin' the penguin, too, since they're pretty cute. The chicken would be funny and sad at the same time, since I'd feel like I'm praising it while we have a close bond and then little does it know, it'd be all "That's it, eat. Soon you'll be in my kitchen as a special guest... Dinner! *cheap evil laughter*"
Such a bittersweet story.

I remember when I was young, my mom was mad at me once (can't remember what it was I did), so she saw my Tamegotchi, grabbed it, flung it to the ground and stormed off. I checked my pet. No damage to it at all. And my Tamagotchi was just hanging out. Like a boss.
And yet today there are smartphones that break apart as soon as they drop to the ground.
-sigh- I miss the 90s.

I hate how cartoons today have to resort to toilet humor or adult jokes (with lack of subtlety) to be funny. It's kinda cheap.

Well, then again I haven't seen many new cartoons in YEARS, so...I dunno what the youngin's are into these days.
I see lots of the Adventure Time and My Little Pony craze but I don't really have an interest in it. It's mostly the case of: "It's popular, so it's kinda annoying." Plus, I feel like I'd be joining some kind of bandwagon if I actually put time into watching them. I dunno. I guess it'd be different if I was already into it THEN found out there was a huge fanbase behind the franchise.
Kinda like how I got into Touhou then found out that many others liked it too.
