what about something that makes them powerless?
shracknel is cursed, therefore limiting his power, and making it impossible to fully shape-shift. what if something caused the curse to take him over completely, repressing his powers of decay and magic, his strength, and ability to shift into any form besides his real one? (ill send a link if you wont know what it looks like. its the big black monster with the red spikes and devil tail) he would still have an amount of strength with size (maybe about an elephant), but nothing beyond that.
