Yeah it was really good. Are the techniques and drawing style in their specific to him? I take it that it was an art study where you drew in the his style?

Thanks, I tried my best to implement his style and technique into my copy, but my lack of technical skills make it fall short I feel. And yeah it's one of 3 study pieces I'm doing, 1 is still not done.

I definitely understand. Half the work I was proud of when completed starts to look increasingly worse the longer I look at it.

Perhaps if that's the case you're adding to much? In my case it's a general issue with most things but if that's not your situation then possibly think about a simpler art style. Just an idea.

Nah it's usually a case of "Wow that character's base was really weak why did I draw on that without correcting it." or "My linework or facial work was really poor." Though trying out a simpler style could be dun one day.

I get that too, I think my observational skills as an aspiring artist lack behind the technical sometimes so I can't see how awkward so,etching is until I define it with pen or the final line work. Maybe, I dunno.

To improve more I would suggest working ALOT ( and mean a lot ) on perspective and anatomy then you'll really be wowing.

No problem, I think most Deviants are too scared to give constructive criticism. they'll just fave your work and say "Cool" or "I like the blah blah blah".  I remember when I first came to this site I got plenty of those comments on my "not soo great works"  lol 

The truth it doesn't help just being nice making comments are that aren't fully true. I find that if more people would've gave me constructive criticism or advice I would've improved faster. Another note would be to leave in your artist's comments that you are welcomed to "constructive criticism" and advice or tutorial resources ;D

Like I said, a lot of times people want to give advice but are too worried about how the artist will respond, so you have to let them know that your open to it as well.
