Almost 2 years on DA, and I had never visited an ANSI gallery! Shame on me...
Well you have such nice art here!!! Very interesting pieces, and so much detailed!
Congratulations!

Thanks for the pablodraw! Say, how much do you have experience of ANSI? How many years? I know that I need much practice if I wan't to release some ANSI someday.. But I really respect your work! I think ANSI or ASCII are the most underrated forms of art in mainstream.
And keep going!

I am so totally dev-watching you. I love your work. I haven't seen ansi much, but I know good art when I see it.

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.

ah thanks for explaining
I think I know what you mean now. Do you get to see the same graphics on TV when you click on the teletext-button? (sorry, i dunno what 'teletext' means in english)

ANSI ROCKS!!!! I Love your work man you have better detail than when I use to do it back in the day. But I was kinda sloppy anyways, my true love was ascii but I still do some from time to time.
Just wanted to throw that in there!

Thanks for dropping in! I think you have a point about the shading...however, I did want to clarify. It isn't a cheap conversion piece, but one made from scratch. I'd hoped the "TheDraw" screen would clarify that, but apparently not always! Although thanks for the flattery.
Cheers,
piq

The thought occurrs that I may've misinterpretted 'blurry' in yer comment--
I know the image isn't that well defined as such- I didn't tidy it up in any way- the submission was more about the conversion script than the piece-- perhaps if I'd any experience with ascii art I'd go for a conversion and 'trace' over it perhaps but shpeh.. I like my lil' useless script :j
π: 0 β©: 0
pachunka [2002-10-09 19:16:49 +0000 UTC]
Dude! :j I was admirin' half the recent submissions ascii art sectionwise and I had no idea they were all yours Great stuff..
I'm going through this weird ascii art phase y'see Again
π: 0 β©: 0
pachunka [2002-10-09 19:13:48 +0000 UTC]
It ain't blurry in fullview- pure 16 colour giffal lovin'.. I was actually originally usin' the C64's inverted x char for the pattern, but I started foolin' around and stuck with the 'Go you big red fire engine' :j I coulda gone a more defined square look- but it'd kinda defeat the purpose of the script- and the C64 doesn't have a decent 50% fade char, so it works out better to useobscure symbols all 'round--
Either way it's totally inapplicable to the machine itself-- which really pissed me off :j And I was mainly submittin' for the sake of not letting the whole evening be entirely unproductive.. and figured mebbe it'd make some people giggle or go 'cool' :j
Thankee much commentwise tho' On both pieces.. really appreciate it

hi there!
just wanna thank you for your comment...
.. err.. I've been checkin' your gallery.. err... man.. you rule
I'm not half of the ansi artist as you are.. in fact, I didn't made big stuff like those you have, only splash screens for bbs's and stuff... .. and that one I submited is one of the fews that "survived" this years... I know that there's lots of block letters like those, in fact, I think that there was a TheDraw font with those, dunno...
... what can I say, I was a n00b on the ansi art in those days, then I left the ansi scene eheh
I'll try to search more of my "old-school" stuff and submit on of these days...
anyway... what program do you use now to view ansi/ascii stuff? I didn't find anything good yet.. I'm still using the oldie AcidView...
btw, you got yourself a deviant-watcher ihhi

awesome.. i was wondering if there were any old ansi heads around here.. hip. so i guess revival is trying to get things going again, that's cool.. iCE is sort of doing the same, i'm very tempted to breakout aciddraw and go to town again..
