I first make light sketches for each page I want to do, kind of like a storyboard, then I measure out the boxes on the actual page I'm going to draw on. Then I'll draw more detailed sketches in pencil, and after that either go over the drawings in pen or scan it into photoshop and trace the lines digitally.
