Pity. A great band without doubt, but many of the so called "fans" seems to overdo Black Sabbaths unwanted "darkness".

Their "Darkness" like you call it, is what makes them unique in a Heavy Metal world filled with bands singing about getting laid!
We'll take any "Darkness" that they want to give us, the more the better!!!!

Haha. They were, yes, indeed unique. Never had people seen such a band, the lyrics and sound preaching doom, though there was more... Now-a-days its diffrent, darkness is a part of many bands, also many of these bands sing about other things then just getting laid, mind you.
Does Earth sound evil or dark to you? I presume not. Earth was their original name, but some other band had already taken it, so they changed. Black Sabbath was maybe a bad choice, for greedy managers found interest in it, and wanted to create an image alike to the name, things that the band itself disagreed in.
Although darkness is a part of Black Sabbath, its not all. Black Sabbath holds more, much more.
I won't play the "Who's the biggest fan"-game. I do, however, find their music very interesting. And also, as I've said, find it a pity to see so called "fans" follow the fake image made of Black Sabbath.
