thanks again , and I wouldn't say "never", it takes a certain sensitivity to the materials you use and sometimes letting the paint and brush lead you rather than always trying to force it to your will. and I'm always suspect if something I do comes too easily, it doesn't feel right unless I lose a piece (or sometimes willfully obliterate it) and struggle a bit to get it back. new avenues can present themselves during the process. main thing is to keep at it, it's something you develop over time... my first paintings were absolutely atrocious.

not so much actually, you just need to keep at it and develop your skill. experiment with techniques, look at art you like and try to break down how it was done, seriously when I think about it that's pretty much how I go about things... and 99% of the time there's probably an established method I'm ignoring or oblivious to which would make things a lot easier, lol! ah but anyway I'd say for just starting out what you've done is better than quite a bit of what passes as art on dA that I see day after day.

you are so kind! I'm 29, never touched art at all... it's just my first attempt to see if this would be a way of dealing with myself. I have no knowledge at all of how to paint, what techniques are there to use I spend most of my time doing selling strategies, budgets and all this stuff...which I love! but I needed something else inside me.

that's cool. maybe just set up a space where you don't have to worry about being messy, I found early on that just being able to freely do whatever I wanted to with paint was fairly liberating and allowed me to fully explore what was possible with drips, runs, splashes, etc... just starting out is a good time to experiment as you're still discovering your "voice".
