I don't think an artist should be too concerned with pageviews, but it does feel good and it does get your work more exposure. There is a group called GetWatchers that generates a lot of pageviews (and watchers) for me. I Downloaded their ArtWorks viewer. Set it to display my homepage (rather than 10 works) and I spend a half hour a day or so doing what its instructions say to do, and it does get a lot of page views for you.
