And thanks for the watch, too! Your pregnant woman sculpture is crazy good! So is your larger than life one, as well.

So... I just realized you hoop dance too!! I haven't been paying very good attention to DA lately. I started watching you because of your sculpture work, particularly Motherbee... but now you're even more exciting because you hoop!!!! I just started about 3.5 months ago, and haven't been particularly diligent about it for a while now. Hot humid summers and sickness makes being outside sweating feel terrible...
Anyhow, I just felt like saying something because I noticed your LED hooping photos. I would love to have one of those but I don't nearly have the money!
I see you live in the U.S.... maybe we are near? I'm in NC.

I'm in MA... and yeah, I love hooping! I've been doing it for almost two years... Now I want to start hooping with fire! I highly recommend looking up hooping videos on youtube, that's how i learned a lot of my tricks!

Turn--to-Paige In reply to amphista [2010-10-27 07:03:56 +0000 UTC]
That's how I learned pretty much everything I know! I actually had never heard of hooping and just happened to stumble across it on youtube. I didn't even know any other hoopers for like.. 2 months. Then I went to our local hoop jam and I didn't look like as much of a beginner when I saw other people. : P
I haven't hooped with fire yet either... but I probably will tomorrow. I missed my chance last week. I've been going to fire jams though and hanging out with all kinds of fire spinners.

So did you get to hoop with fire yet?
π: 0 β©: 1
Turn--to-Paige In reply to amphista [2010-11-11 22:47:55 +0000 UTC]
omg haha I haven't. I was at a firejam last night, but there wasn't a fire hoop so I was just playing around with mine. I guess the hoopers have become more of their own identity and the jams are lots of guys with staff, poi, and devil sticks. Much much fun though.
I am performing in a couple weeks though! with a PSI LED hoop that my manager is letting me borrow!

Dear Nathan,
I am doing well, things have been pretty crazy, lots of work applying for shows and last week I broke a tooth. I hope you are well as well. What new wonderful things have you been doing?
Sincerely,

Oh no! I pray for your cracked tooth, and hope the pain diminishes soon... dental pain is extremely unbearable,as I just had to have a back molar removed yesterday!!! No kidding!
Other than that, life has been great! My little son is five yrs old now, and he and I have some great little conversations about whatever thoughts are going thru his growing little mind. He is the funniest, sweetest little kid and is such a joy for me and my fiancee.
I'm so glad to hear you've been applying for shows! Your work is so stunningly mind-bogglingly radical, it's sure to attract lots of positive attention, and who knows what tomorrow will bring!
Thx so much for the sweet reply, I hope life is wonderful on the East coast!
Sincerely and with warm regards,
Nathan

thank you. yeah those are from a few years ago... i've looked into some figure drawing open studios that i could go to around here because I really miss it. and I agree with you about the colors... using acrylic washes and chalk pastels is fun fun.

Maria,
Hi!! Queen will forever live on as possibly the greatest rock band of all time. I am so glad you're into them. "Who Wants To Live Forever" (heartwrenching),"The Show Must Go On" (inspiring), and "MotherLove"(saddening) are my faves by them.
Calvin/Hobbes rule, too!
