# About me

I am a hobby photographer concentrating mostly on landscapes but have started to branch out to other areas.

I am always on the lookout for new locations to photograph and prefer to stay away from the usual tourist spots although they can make great photo ops too. If something looks like it will make a great photo, I will shoot it.

I must thank you for helping me decide which lens to buy. I already got the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G and it's really great. I'm glad I didn't choose the 50mm.

Have you got any favorite zoom lenses, if I may ask?

It is a nice camera. I am happy with it although I won't have it much longer. Going to upgrade to the D800. I recommend picking up the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G and the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G. Both are really good lenses and rather inexpensive.

That's great, but for now , I guess D5100 will do for me, as I have alot to learn so upgrading wouldn't be such a good idea for now. About lens,well I suppose I'm gonna opt for the 35mm lens Nikkor lens anytime soon . Do you think 35mm over 50mm would be a good idea?

It really depends on what you want it for. The 50mm is better for portraits, however, the 35 mm does good with them as well. I love the 35mm. You can still use it for landscapes just not as wide as the kit lens. So I guess my answer is, yes. 35mm over 50mm.

The D5100 will certainly help you learn. Just stay off of auto mode. I prefer Aperture priority for the most part. Manual has its benefits but I rarely use it.

Agreed , thank you so much , that was a great advise. I believe the 35 mm is abit more versatile. It's capable of shooting great portraits aswell as landscapes.
