"Hey so I was wondering if you could help me with the Title parts of the journal (you know the "And even MOAR" stuff...) because everytime I try to put an emoticon in there and make it all titley, it never works.
I've tried it on Firefox besides Explorer, but its still the same result!

I watched you a bit on guitar craze and have watched you the whole time here and I have a question. How did you transition so smoothly from emotes to something so completely different such as icon and interface design? I've been trying to do this stuff for about two years now and I still suck...

Well, it wasn't exactly a transition. I've been interested in computer graphics since I was around 12 yrs old. And I've always enjoyed all types of art since as long as I can remember. When I first joined dA on my GC account, I wasn't really sure what type of art I specialized in. So, I went searching. I soon found out that I'm naturally talented in a quite a few things. I had never guessed I'd be so fluent with animation, though. So, as time progressed, I became sucked into the world of emotes. I was fascinated with how much could be done with such a small circle. I guess you could say that emotes distracted me from my TRUE interest: graphic design.
The moment I found out about layer styles in Ps (beginning of second semester last year), the possibilities seemed endless to me. I was immediately hooked. And by now your question is probably: "Well then, how did you progress your skill so rapidly?" (Because believe it or not, I was hopeless with design exactly one year ago.) Answer: "I honestly have no idea. . ___. However, I do have a tip. Keep your interests always on your mind, constantly the main focus of your thinking. For example, when I watch a modern movie with computer generated images and animation, I observe and analyze the art throughout the movie, thinking of ways to replicate it. Also, practice whenever you get the chance. You'll be surprised at how much 1 hour of practice can do for you.
As for the statement, "...I still suck..." You don't suck. I looked through a few of your works, and you seem to have the concept down. You just need to download some PSD files of resources around dA and find out how people make them, look at some tutorials, and remember to practice. But above all, get Photoshop ASAP. Ps is the #1 tool for creating graphic design masterpieces. GIMP, I'm afraid, isn't going to cut it when you're working as a professional for a company, so you'll need to get your hands familiar with its interface.
