Sorry for a late reply, I haven't logged in here in so long!

You can sort of see how I made them a bit better here, www.cosplay.com/photo/2015830/
They are vinyl material painted with acrylic, I used masking tape to get them as straight as I could. I attached the pouches with vinyl as well but I should have used stronger material because they didn't last very long, everyone always bumps into them in the convention hall. So I'd recommend something really sturdy/thick to attach them to your belt!

The boots I just found 'riding boots' on ebay and spray painted them with a plastic based spray paint, they still cracked a bit. I have seen leather paints around that might work out better.

ive been working a full time job, and havent gotten to do any prop work this summer. my boss even just asked me to make him a rifle from star wars, lol
