Why hello there. It has been a full year since I updated my profile as I haven't used this as much as I used too. So I have done my AS Levels in History, Sociology, Film Studies and English lit+lang

I had a B in all of them apart from Sociology which I got a C in, but had an A in one paper and a D in the other so am retaking the D paper to hopefully come out of A-Levels with an ABB. Dropped Film Studies as it isn't as much of an Academic subject

I'm hoping to do the history of religion in University as I find Philosophy and Religion the most interesting of things. I had converted to Islam myself once, but have since adopted an Agnostic Theist perspective.

Don't worry, It's always nice to see people commenting on my profile. I used to get like 100 messages a day lol and would reply to them. Since I went off for a whole year however I get virtually none lol.

Ahh, yeah I probably should've noticed the 2013 bit... That means your my age then (Oh and no worries about N-N, it happens )

And yeah, I'm retaking a paper from last year too; Buddhism paper for Religious Studies. I gotta D overall which sucked because I was getting Bs in the practice essays. Still, lots of people in my year did terrible (got Us!) and have to get themselves outta bigger holes than I have, so I'm grateful. I got A, B, C, D at AS! XD

And whoa, I'm agnostic theist too! O: I find it hard to believe everything spawned from nothingness, for no reason, and I also believe us (as human beings) are limited and constricted in our thinking and ability to fathom things... so I very much embrace the unknown. On the other hand, I have issues with Christianity and the traditional idea of 'God' too. So I'm sitting on a very big fence here!

I want to do English Language at university Words and the way we use them intrigues me greatly ^0^

And yes, I'll check out your poetry indeed~ I too write poetry, though more rarely now.

Ah that sounds interesting. My own father is a Taoist Buddhist. I do know bits and bobs and have read around it a lot. But would love to do an actual course on it. Surely, if lots of people did terrible don't they base grade boundaries on how people did? That's what happens in some of our papers I believe. Loads of people got what would of been A's but seeing as so many people did the boundaries went up to split it up (talk about myth of meritocracy eh). Haha, I wish I did better in my AS, wanted at least an A in my History. Hoping to do better in that subject in A2.

The theory of universe coming from nothing is just one of some Atheistic theories of creation. So you don't have to believe in that to be Atheist is all I'm saying. I find the leibnizian cosmological argument quite logical in my opinion which is usually the logical route I go by to explain why I believe in a God, though it still is a theory and so I would not go into a debate with it unless someone argued with another logical theory of course.

I saw your comment on my poem which I will reply too soon btw (I like to think before replying so sorry) so just wanted to question here, do you only look at the Christian idea of God when comparing? I'm only asking as I see it popping up, not making an assumption but just to warn it's dangerous to be Christocentric which is something we look at in Sociology. Don't go into any religion with a Christian God idea in mind is all I'm saying. The Islamic concept of God for example is very much different:
Say: He is Allah, The One and Only. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him. [Al-Qur’an 112:1-4]

Compared to other religions, all are different in the concept of God so in order to research a religion, always have to have a different mindset.

Hah, I do literature and language so I know what you mean. Sounds fun though I wouldn't go as far as university for it

I've only just very recently came across 'Taoism' and I'm not sure what it is. It cropped up in a JW publication. My friend is a Witness and I like to study with her and discuss stuff, that's how I came across it~~

And yes, I am aware of that ^^ (speaking of the idea of 'God') You'll see in the comment on your poem, I said: "(if indeed we're thinking of the same, traditional, Christian God)" I was almost skimming the surface of that whole other can of worms That's the hard thing about discussing religion and philosophy, and other meaty topics; you're working on assumptions and similar trails of thought.

Your reply on the poem was interesting, and I admire your knowledge. In future, I might prod for some discussion and extra perspective~~ I'm not in the frame of mind currently to digest all that you said (irl stresses >,<) but thank you for offering other views and such ^_^

Taoist Buddhism is essentially an Agnostic Buddhist. Live for today and in the now. They don't get into channelling the elements like more contemporary Buddhists do. It's nice that you're getting into it, I'm not an expert myself despite my own father following it so would be interested to see what you find out~

Heyyy Leigh!!

I got my results a while back aha I got 3 A's, 2 B's and the rest were C's. I was incredibly happy with them ^_^ I hope you've been doing well too

I am in 6th form now and am doing A-Levels. I'm doing English lit and lang, History, Sociology and Film Studies ^_^ I already know what I want to do with my life and that's history I want to be a historian and am hoping to get to Cambridge uni for that ^^ But to get there you need straight A's in A-Levels so I need to work hard

I went on a summer course recently to NCS and met the 2 greatest friends. Actually i plan on doing a journal shortly so I won't get too detailish here

But yeah, generally I've never been happier with my life. The only drawback is that I'm not online as much as I used to be back in the daysss ahaha

I'm glad your laptop isn't being emo now xD

I'm glad you are doing well. I totally know what you mean about not getting online much anymore. I feel bad, but I've been to lazy when I have free time. Instead, I have been writing on some of my stories. I'm taking core classes (math, science,l.a.,history), latin, drama, and band. I'm also in the anie club and creative writing club. They are alot of fun!

I will have to go check out that journal. ^ ^

Yeah well it's hard work, have to stay at college till 5:30 most days to catch up on homework as well as to do extra revision

I get lazy too, I usually read some of my books or stay on facebook talking to people. Latin sounds interesting and band? What instruments do you play? I play piano a lot when I get the time ^^

Check out the journal if you wish, no one as commented lol.

And same ^^ you should really make a private facebook or something so you can keep in touch with friends, I mean wven when I am busy a lot, I can at least talk to people on phone on the go when I get a few minutes haha

Well it's A-Levels, it's pretty intense studying you need to remember a LOT for the exams and you don't get many chances otherwise it's 2 years of life wasted as you will have to start all over again.

Weeks are going by intensely quick for me your comment feels like yesterday but when I see it was quite a while ^^'

Christmas holidays coming after next week, been busy researching, studying, debating, homework completing and doing some extenstive reading for history as it's what I want to do in Cambridge University for my Degree ^^
