# About me

I've always enjoyed making things, especially jewellery. As a little girl, I used to make simple braided bracelets and sell them for charity. As I grew older, I got inspired by various artists (including my own aunt) to take up jewellery-making again. Over the years, I've tried out various techniques, including lampwork and metal clay. But wire-work turned out to be my true passion. For now, at least :) Who knows what the future will bring...

Stunning artistry! I've never liked traditional jewelry (my engagement ring was onyx), your work is far from ordinary. Do you work with onyx much? Or is it difficult to source?

Do you like onyx because of the colour, or do you have a special connection with that specific mineral? Onyx is generally black, but there are also other minerals that are mostly black (e.g. spinel, obsidian). I don't think onyx would be hard to come by, but I haven't looked for it specifically yet so I don't know for sure. I do have lots of small black spinel beads which I use occasionally in my work. :) (Smile) I can also cut my own cabochons in any shape and size I'd like, so if there is any onyx rough/slabs available somewhere that wouldn't be a problem, either.

That's a good question. I have always liked black but I just get a good energy from onyx. Someone just told me recently that it releases you from sorrow, wards off negativity and ensures a peaceful relationship! Who knew a rock had so much power! Anyway, I love all colours of onyx, just especially the black with silver setting, since my entire wardrobe is black.

Black's a good choice, it goes with nearly everything :D (Big Grin) I'll look around for some onyx, and maybe some jewellery with onyx will appear on my deviantart in future :) (Smile)
