i have a question, when you made Suika's act 1.0, was it sounding crappy (or choppy)?
I have made my own UTAU (not released yet. im still testing her) but she sounds a bit ''manly-old-lady''in C4-C5.. :c

Yes When I first made suika her voice was choppy and pooish I still have it too~ I wasnt like Super pooish I mean you could still understand her but occasionally it would be Dhsdfdhgfhgfh And I find having a mature female voice makes the Utau stronger in range so dont worry about your voice!

What did you use to record your utau, like what program and microphone? and How long are your samples?

I use Audacity. I have a laptop, so it's the laptop's mic.
How long... Hmm.. Some are 00:00 seconds, some are 00:01 seconds. But they are not 3 seconds long. This is too long.

Laptop mics make a choppy sound to the voice, try using like a Rockband mic because those can connect via USB drive. Also if you dont hold your samples for as long as 2-3 seconds its not long enough for utau to process correctly and it stretches the voice out making it sound slurry. Audacity is ok for recording samples but its not my prefered, and if your recording samples Id suggest saying them all in one long row then cutting the sound strip up in audacity. For mixing Utau music Id suggest Reaper and for editing on the voice I use Fl Studio.

Hmm.. Now i understand! But i think that Hagane (my re-named UTAU)'s voice is a bit too much like me. I Flag her to g-5 or g-7 for a little higher voice.
2-3 seconds length?? I hold them for 00:00 or 1 second. The 0 seconds ones are not too short, i think they are long enough to be understandable.
I do record them all in one row; with a pause between each other.

Well I find when I have my sounds around 1 second they come out kinda rough, but if your okay with your samples then who am I to judge eh?
Also its good that you record in a row because then your voice wont change pitch~ Also Its not bad to have your voice sound like your real self I find that that comes in handy~ I wish Suika sounded more like the real me, but when I was recording her I was tired. lol Its great for duets though when it sounds similar.~

ACT 2 will take longer; because now, i am more perfectionist. (I usually delete the "chicken sounding" ones)
But if you would hear how i really sound.. You might get a little scared.. It's a bit chicken-ish..
