I've been cosplaying for 8 years, and attend local-ish midwest cons. Usually recognized from past cons when cosplaying Abby Sciuto from NCIS or Vexen from Kingdom Hearts.

It depends on if you have the resources. As you could tell from mine, we weren't finished with some of the details, which is the hardest part with KH cosplay. A lot of it is also the personality of the character when actually cosplaying them.
As for an easy first, it depends on if you want your first a KH cosplay or not. To be honest, Namine is the easiest KH costume to start with. She was actually my first KH character, so I know from experience.
