Very nice. I'm always glad to see traditional artists get their due. 
Out of curiosity, when you work on a children's book, is it the author who contracts directly with the illustrator, or does the publisher "broker" that arrangement themselves? While I am not looking to write kids' books (I don't have that talent), I have a story character who will translate such books into other languages, and so I don't want to look like an idiot.

To answer your question - Seldom the author. Usually the publisher. I don't have one, but agents will work with publishers and packagers to broker the best arrangement.
