I was running around like CRAZY at this con O.o I am never doing three events again. I was SO BAD in the Dating Game XD I overbooked this one. Ended up wearing SIX different cosplays because of photoshoots and panels and events.

Yay! What other cons do you do? I'm fairly certain I'm going to AAC this year, and Connecticon is a slightly-pessimistic maybe because I have no money XD

A lot of them. Only a few are from scratch, and a couple are commissions.

I'll just do a rundown XD
Ryo: Made from a base jacket (almost from scratch)
Neji: Bought a base, altered significantly
Zero: Bought a base, altered significantly
Artbook Lelouch: Commissioned
Hotaru: Completely from scratch
Kallen: Commissioned
Rei: Commissioned
Jet: Vest, pants and armor from scratch; t-shirts from Savers
Hishigi: Base jacket from Savers, HEAVILY altering. Pants and mask from scratch
Shihodo: From scratch, other than shorts

I made a promise to myself that Rei would be the last cosplay I would ever buy XD

Uhhhh...>.< I'm terrible at giving advice, but what I've got is this. Try to start off of a base, because altering can be easier and cheaper than making something from scratch if you don't have a pattern. And even with a pattern, it can be tricky and expensive. Once you're more experienced, keep working with patterns and altering the patterns or the results to make what you need. I haven't made my own patterns for anything but Hotaru, and I had pretty significant help with those XD
