And I so agree with your journal. I live in an extreme "bible belt" area, and it's kind of hard to get anyone to understand that abortion is not "killing babies" as some would say. It's annoying dealing with ignorant people

Yeah me neither. For one, I was raised hindu, so it'd be ridiculous for me to suddenly "convert" to Christianity like most people expect me too. Honestly though, I'm more of just a blatant atheist. If I had to tone it down, I'd say agnostic, but that's interchangeable.

Yes, I totally understand. I've recently come to terms that I'm agnostic. I'd like to think theirs a life after death, and God, and such but I'm not truly convinced. I'm just so factual minded that it's hard for me to believe in something that can't be proven. But I definately respect those that are religious, otherwise I'd be just be another ignorant person.

Yeah, I really tried to hold on to the idea of god for a while. And I still somewhat do, however it's increasingly becoming harder for me to believe. And yes, I do absolutely respect religion. I've had some of my most intellectual discussions with a church pastor. And of course, there are many moral values in certain Asian religions that I respect quite a bit. In fact, I find religion fascinating. I just don't have the capability to treat it as anything more than mythology.

I totally understand your reasoning for understanding religion as mythology. That's how I've always kind of viewed it as. Haha, I actually had that discussion with my English professor the other day XD
Haha, having this conversation has made me feel better. I usually seem to attract very conservative, relgious friends, so it's always been diffulct to have a conversation when religion comes up.

Yeah I totally understand. I struggled too with extremists. Eventually I found some really great and open-minded online communities. Talking to people really makes you feel a lot better.

Oh, my professor was very open-minded. He's a Roman Catholic, but was very understandable in how someone could view religion similar to mythology. He said something along the lines of saying the Greeks gods were worshiped as religious figures, even though in todays world we understand the Greek gods as nothing more than "story-book type characters." He said the same could be said for today's religion, but said that that's one of the main reasons religion is called "faith."
It was a really in-depth conversation, that I really enjoyed.

I'm in a hospital bed and scared because I couldn't move, I asked the doctor "What's going on?" He said "You don't remember? It all happened at school.." He told me "Your friend had a problem with some people at school and was almost shot - you jumped in front of them and took the bullet yourself, you're Lucky you didn't, die. You're going to be ok, though, so don't worry." Now I think to myself " I'm happy I took that bullet for you, because it would've hurt even more to see you lying in this hospital bed." post this on 10 friends's wall that you would take a bullet for (:
