I encourage you to just draw what you enjoy and late once you get up to 7 - 10 pieces or WIPs look back on your work and think of themes from there. Originally my concentration was figures falling, but then I changed it last minute to a balance between abstraction and realism. 

I just use art to express myself.

Oh I see. That's sort of what my teacher said to do. I'm currently doing anthropomorphic people but still only on my 4th piece.

[stepping between a more cartoonish/stylized form of drawing and more realistic paintings is confusing ... so i need people with awesome styles to watch hahaha ] that didn't make sense but whatever > <
