Yeah, I'm still finding my little "niche" in writing. It's come a bit of a ways, but my imagination is rather lacking, makes it harder to keep wanting to write.
I've taken to re-writing some older stories for practice.

I know exactly that process. Keeping the creativity flowing is hard. I find writing fanfiction fairly easy, but when it comes to my own stories, I hit sold walls waaaay too often 
That's really good practice, I've done it myself, especially if you keep earlier versions to compare

I do, that's why they're getting a rewrite. Haha. x3 Some of them are in the state of 'why did I write this?' and not much thought was given and characters were rather shallow.
Now. To learn to write more descriptively.
Also, I've never written in second-person. Seems interesting. :3 I've only written a couple first-person, the rest are third.

Yeah, I'd only ever written 3rd person before I started reader-inserts, so it was a little weird to learn

Yeah. Hard to make people, so complex.
As I try to say to myself nowadays: Do what you can with what comes to mind, then work some more to refine.
If people don't like reading it, ah well.
My other problem is wording...oh gosh. I'll have a great wording for a situation, and then *poof* it's gone and doesn't want to come back. Then I get lazy and don't want to look up more sophisticated or nicer sounding wording. x3

That happens all too much for me. I have lost whole sections of stories that way. 
And thank you very much. I've done some re-writings and I have received nearly no feedback on them so I'm uncertain if they were better or not. Or at least sound well enough on their own, as most probably don't even remember the original.
I have read a large number of your XReader stories though I have not commented. I must admit, I'm terrible at it. x3 But I do really like them. The "I've Always Been Here" left me in waterworks. And I loved your "Pick-up Lines" as it made me giggle at the nerdiness twist. :3
