Excellent, because I've been watching it recently and I really like the concept of the Land of the Remembered, especially with it being a very vibrant and festive place where some of the dead venture, as long as they're remembered.

Indeed it is. You know, I recently found out something that wasn't mentioned in the film: that there two more realms of the dead. One is called the Land of the Unknown and the other is the Land of the Cursed, each of them ruled by the siblings of La Muerte and Xibalba. The film's director, Jorge Rodriguez, has personally revealed this on his blog.
Speaking of gods of the dead, I think that one individual Xibalba would easily befriend is Hades from Greek mythology (specifically the Disney version voiced by James Woods). Because if you think about it, they both have similar traits with Hades being a shady deal maker and Xibalba behaving like a sneaky gambling man. Furthermore, they both hate the realms that rule over.

The old Aztec afterlife is made of, you guess it, four parts, three realms of trials and one of passing/resting, so I guess Jorge Rodriguez planned for each land to have a movie. Or so I guess.
He is more inspired in Disscord from MlP, his behaivior is almost identical to the former antagonist and lets not ignere the obvious fisical similarity. As a little something, is a nice to notice that everyone in the movie's story are poppets, save for La Catrina and Xibalba, impling that they have no one controling their fates.

By the way, I just now remembered that the ruler of The Land of the Cursed is named El Chamuco and he's the elder brother of Xibalba. El Chamuco's wife, La Noche, is the ruler of The Land of the Unknown and is the twin sister of La Muerte. Here are links of what each of them looks like:

Well writen... but a bit pointless besides been the one holding the tittular McGuffin.
Didn't thought much of the voice, since they didn't give him anything out of the setting, which in turn I thank, it would be odd to see rapping in a Latinamerican setting.

I remember one funny line from the Candlemaker during the epic bull fight in the Land of the Remembered: for thousands of those deceased bulls merged into a giant monster of a bull, he said "Now that is a whole lot of bull!"

It's been a while. I just wanted to say hello, as well as thank you for all of the comments and support that you've given. I've been super busy, so although I haven't replied to very much of it, I just wanted to say that I really do appreciate the time that you take to look through my stuff and post about it.
I also read through that large journal that you posted a while back with me in it, and at the time, it really made my day. I should have commented with a thank-you back when I first saw it, and I feel kinda bad only just getting around to saying so now.
Nevertheless, if there's anything that I can do for you, please don't hesitate to let me know. Additionally, I'm very sorry to hear about your grandfather; I know how difficult that sort of thing can be. I hope that he had a long and fulfilling life, and that you will be able to treasure the memories that you have of him.

As for my grandpa: as I say we didn't have the best of relationships so there is little sorrow from my part, but am still giving calls to my mother and brothers from time to time.
