(altho these days all of them go on tumblr, i only post what i particularly like on here now nvcxklnxcv)

I honestly have wanted to contact you forever, too, but every time I came across your page, I got too nervous.  To be frank, it was really, really late for me last night and I think my nervous filter was flipped off.  LOL   I always really looked up to you (and still do sdfjlg), so when I saw that you replied, I literally died.  HNNG.

Yeah, srsly, I miss it so much.  I was looking through a few friends profiles and found some nostalgic bases by... I think their name was Holikiss or... something??  I can't remember because they changed their name a few times since being active, but I think they deactivated their account.  I remember getting into all sorts of petty arguments with people who hated bases and dolls, too... ahah.  Man, such a trip.  I really wish we could revitalize the community, but with how dA is now, I don't really foresee it ever coming back?  It was quite the time to be alive, though.  OOF.

I dunno how you feel about Eclipse, but it's making me really sad.  :/  I was just getting back into dA and then they slam this on me.  POURQUOI????

SOMETHING IM NOT SURE i literally have all their old old bases saved cause an ex friend sent me her absolutely massive base collection a few years ago and honestly, thank goodness cause i have nooo idea if theyre even active anymore. like the only old basemaker making stuff still is grangerpixel but i kno her pretty well and she doesnt pump em out like she used to? i sometimes update my base account (and a close friend does too) but i dont rly kno about new people...? esp cause if you go in customization now all you see is the kisekae dolls and mlp stuff (if any now) which is lame
god i miss it but holy shit were the people getting mad about bases annoying, i remember my stuff would end up on front page and i haaaated it cause i knew id get shit, and then there was the fact that when asked if i did "real" art id send something done from scratch and thered be like, no response lmFAO

ECLIPSE HURTS MY FUCKIN EYES. I WAS EXCITED THINKING IT WAS A DARK MODE BUT NO ITS TERRIBLE AND REAAALLY CONFUSING. i also hate that it fucked up my icons and shit, not to mention the lazy loading is so... ughhh, it annoys me, so im staying with normal da layout until it is ripped from my hands. i just hope they improve on it ughhhh

i am coo tho, i mean mostly i kinda do the same stuff besides go out more? but i've been getting back into art actually like, with the drive i had yeeears ago since i recently cut someone out who was kinda holding back all chance for like, drive whatsoever lmfao i mostly do stuff on toyhouse and tumblr but i try to check in here when i can, since i put up art i particularly like on here when i can vckcnvkn what about you? :0

I am squishy bean, so it definitely wasn't your fault!  I just can't easily talk to people, much less people I really admire.  Like, legit, when really good artists watch me or watch me back... I can't even say "OMG I LOVE YOUR ART".  I just silently wither away until I forget about it, pff.  I am also a lot different of a person now, I feel.  I'm way more open and willing to start conversations.  At least late at night when I'm tired... LOL

YAS HOLLI.  I always got them and another person confused, too... I don't remember the other person's name at all, though, since they recently changed it.  I know one of them has deactivated their account.  It makes me so sad, too, because they seemed really nice.  And their art was soooo good.  Like... unf.  I was inspired by so many people back in the day but I never had the balls to say it, LOL.  I haven't seen any new bases around, either.  At least not anime bases.  I see a few here or there, but they either aren't my style or they aren't pixel-friendly.  I've mostly stuck to using my own art recently because I end up just fixing the base to my style anyway?  And I feel kind of bad posting base stuff too much since I know everyone who has watched me did so to see my original art and not my doll stuff.  But I really miss the endless hours in MS Paint.  Those were the good old days.

I knew, absolutely KNEW, at the time that I couldn't draw and I hated not being able to express myself.  Bases were really what drove me to do better because I could see how nice my art look using a base versus not using a base.  It gave me a glimpse of what I could be.  I really heavily started studying anatomy, too, because I'd always end up fixing up bases even back then.  And it just... it made me think way deeper than just "what looks good".  Hnnng.  I'm really glad for where I am right now, but I do miss being so young and naive.  It hurts to grow up.  >: (

Dude, same to everything.  It's so stripped down and boring.  I hear it being compared to Artstation all the time, but at least Artstation is easy to navigate.  I hate, hate, HATE how my gallery looks in eclipse.  I like that it has a night mode now, but again can't even freaking look at it sometimes.  I'm so upset by it I had a freaking dream about it the other night where it used the same colors as classic, but just had a little sleeker look.  And I envy that dream so much.  Also, so upset I wasted so much money on a core membership.  I get literally nothing out of it in Eclipse, either, so once they force the change... $50 down the drain.  I could've used that for so much more stuff, FFF.  If they were gonna make such huge changes, they sure as hell should've thought them out and executed them way more before throwing it in our faces.

I actually go out less than I used to... After I graduated college, I usually only worked part-time for a bit, then went to full time, but now I'm back to being self-employed.  So I literally just sit in my room all day, on the internet.  Super healthy, I know.  I'm really glad you were able to get back into drawing.  I just recently came back from about a month's break because of my work.  I drew like five full pieces in two days and it felt so nice.  LOL  I also have a commission waiting for me, so I'm excited to finish that, too.

Since I've started to be a bit more social and getting to know more people here, I've come to really like dA again.  I'm just really sad it'll go down the drain once Eclipse is required.  I would've really savored the moments I had here if I'd known it was all gonna be gone soon.  : (((

UGHHH I RLY LIKED HOLLI'S STUFF TOO. that and zabukawaii (who mostly does like, traditional stuff on tumblr now-), her art was super inspiring for me and i used to reference her palettes and shading and backgrounds a lot omg 
also god, i mostly see sai bases and my old ass is like, nah. im not usin paint tool sai thats not my life i literally cannot adjust VCXNVCX i like my clear pixels honestly-
these days i actually use gimp! like an old old version but ive been switching between that and ms paint cause i used to literally just ; ; use the pencil on every pixel cause an ex friend pressured me to do it and now im just like... ow owww i do not have the wrists for that anymore fuck that

AHHH yeah i feel that! i def feel i learned a lot in terms of anatomy and drawing other things- i started out being good with animals cause i used to be a lowkey furry when i was like eleven lmfao but i do feel better about my traditional stuff in comparison to seven years ago! i do still like using them but GOd there's some that you can barely tell was from a base and im pretty happy with that honestly

UGHHH I AHTE THAT cause sometimes i think of getting a premium again but like, ugh i really dont want to, especially since i dont really use this site, tumblr is literally where i'm most active and even then i'm kinda dead- but i remember only getting a three month long one last year just to use my current brand cause i was so sick of paralytic lights ncvknvc 

oh man i understand that tho, i'd like to get a job again just to get out a bit but it suuucks here, it's either that or i play on my ps4 a lot or talk to my friend until she goes to sleep for work, which isn't too long? but that's most of my life these days-
but ughhh i honestly hate that, cause another art site i was on died like 6 years ago and im still mad cause i had a bunch of dolls i lost? like why didnt they just give everyone a chance to back it up, ugh

i use gimp! specifically 2.6 since the new version doesnt save in png
i mostly use the pencil and have it at the smallest size, i used to use ms paint but i didnt get as good results on cleaning lines n all that, i hope that helps :0
