Hello there!
Are you still active?
Unreal Engine 4Hello there, everyone!
I just want to talk to you about the perhaps most popular programming tool out there: Unreal Engine 4.
Game Engine Technology by Unreal
As you may, or rather probably, already know, it really is useful for creating homemade games, fangames included.
I am not so sure that I can tell you anything about it that you do not already know, but I think it could be useful to get people to become more aware of great media that despite its greatness is unfortunately for us is very obscure.
For example; Those who enjoy the French animated series of Galactik Football, and have good enough computing skills, could probably create a Soccer-themed Sports-RPG based on the cartoon.
Still, some people might compare it to Level-5's Inazuma Eleven franchise, as well as perhaps the two Mario-themed soccer games that Next Level Games co-developed with Nintendo SPD Group No. 3.

What do you mean by TMS?
I just wish Atlus could dig out the Trauma series, I think I have even heard Kimishima's phone ringing near the games. #RIP

I thought you meant Tokyo Mirage Session, it was confusing and didn't really make sense.w
I didn't know, thanks. Well, I don't watch anime anymore but I wouldn't say no for a Trauma anime. We waited 10y+ for the Ace Attorney one, why no Trauma? Besides, it could be a nice marketing move to bring back the series.
But I won't expect anything.

Ahaha, kind of. You're welcome. And what's up with the French, dear?
Not at all. I do have a thing for that doctor indeeeeed... but I can enjoy other characters as well. As long as it is "elaborated" work, I'm in.

(oh! I'm impressed.) For learners like for native speakers, I can assure you that la conjugaison reste l'ennemi numéro 1, hahaha.
Kinda noticed that. That's why I keep on reading your works, ha.

La conjugaison est la bête noire... mais pas trop compliqué, I've seen worse. The spelling, however...

Oh yes I have too. I tried Arabic. That's why I only tried. I've paused that for a while, hahaha.
Mhh.. spelling is just a matter of exposure to the language one is learning in my opinion.
I can think of "sc" and "ss" differences for French though, tricky. But with Latin basics that kind of problem can be avoided.

kimishima-naomi In reply to Ura-Moka [2016-12-23 18:56:34 +0000 UTC]
Very true. I've not had issues with English spelling, for example, despite how blatantly illogical it is at times. Though, maybe, it was the slower pace of learning at play there. Now, playing "guess the letter(s)" with French, though... And what is the purpose of les accents, where are they placed in words?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Ura-Moka In reply to kimishima-naomi [2016-12-27 15:17:53 +0000 UTC]
You had me laughing at loud, I can't breathe!wwwwwww
Between you and me, les accents are meaningless!ww There isn't a day in the week where we don't argue about pronounciation at Uni with my classmates.
But on principle there are placed where a certain letter is not pronounced "normally". For instance, "e" is read like the "u" of "murder" on a regular basis. But when there is this accent "é", it is pronounced like the "e" of "example".
But then can also only have a grammatical purpose! "à"'s pronounciation isn't altered at all. It is just to indicate that it is an adverbial phrase. ("je vais à l'hôpital...")
é is said è for some while "ai" is pronounced "è" by others, it's really complicated for foreigners to get it. EVEN NATIVE SPEAKERS GET MAD AT IT! ahaha
It's a whole "regional dissonance" thing I guess. I suppose it could be compared with the English "TH" but turned up to eleven.
Learners should really trust dictionaries'pronounciations more than native speakers sometimes, haha.

Ah, I see, thank you. That makes sense for a given value of making sense.
Native speakers are the worst at speaking/writing correctly, really.

You're welcome, I hope it helped even as insignificant it is as an "explanation".
I guess these native corruptions are what keep a language alive and make it evolve. For the best like for the worst unfortunately haha.

kimishima-naomi In reply to Ura-Moka [2016-12-28 05:14:05 +0000 UTC]
Understanding that there is no logic behind something can be quite helpful too.
Very true! The regional differences are absolutely fascinating (and hard to keep track of). Honestly, I've asked a group of friends once whether it was "soda" or "pop". The ensuing argument was a long one.

Bonne année à vous aussi. (Peux-je dire "toi"?)
2016 had taken a lot from me, I'll admit, but it will get better. Eventually.
Ah, yes, I broke my mind once looking at differences between Canadian French and French spoken in France. Cannot imagine how much of a mess it must be on the regional level.

I would normally say: "Expectations kill, Doctor." But I read somewhere last year the only thing we can do is hope for the best. And I do hope that 2017 vous sera salutaire. UvU
I won't lie: I do have hard times understanding Canadian French sometimes.ww
It is said to be "frenchier" than the actual French spoken in France though, as it is "less corrupted" and closer from the French initially spoken. Yet it has so many anglicisms I don't see how this is possible.

I don't plan on dying - or giving up, for that matter. Here's to hoping the path I'm headed down won't be the end of me.
A lot of anglicisms and some very creative swearing... If there's one similarity, it's that all of you guys take French very seriously, what with the Académie française et cetera.

Ura-Moka In reply to kimishima-naomi [2017-01-07 16:20:34 +0000 UTC]
Ha. You didn't seem the type to anyway.
Now that you mention it, there is no creative swearing in French I can think of. Mhh... Might question people around me.
You're accurately right. To be honest, people take French more seriously than the Government itself. There was a Grammar and spelling reform coming from the Gov last year and people made a fuss about it.

For me, only Merovingian's formula, from the Matrix, comes to mind. ("Nom de Dieu de putain de...")
...in my regretfully unqualified opinion, French could use a spelling reform.

I don't even remember that sequence but I just checked. That's really violent.wwww
You should check Black Lagoon's French dub if you're interested in such..."formulas". I really despise French dubs in general but this one is glorious.w
I could help translating if you're having problems.
NOOO!...
Just kidding but these reforms were kind of stupid. Like now one could write "weekend" (usually written week-end) and it would not be considered as a mistake. A part that you might like though, is that they removed some accents, "^" the circonflexe on some words.
We've already had that kind of reforms before, for instance, merci used to be written "merçi". Old people still write it that way by the way.

That's an option, thank you. Though I'm not good at perceiving things by ear, to be honest, especially such a fast-paced language.
Interesting. I've had to double-check the rules to understand that. It's read as [s] before e, i, and y anyway, isn't it?

Ura-Moka In reply to kimishima-naomi [2017-01-07 19:18:39 +0000 UTC]
Actually, absolutely not. At least not nowadays (and for the past 100 years if I remember right.ww)
One word, one illustration:
HOSPITAL = Hôpital. You don't say the S. It's just to indicate there used to be one there.
Same goes for Fenêtre for an additional and non referencial example. (FENSNTER in German).
It's all about etymology when I look at it.

kimishima-naomi In reply to Ura-Moka [2017-01-07 19:33:05 +0000 UTC]
I meant, for the c letter, not the circonflexe.
Fenêtre, but défenestration. The presence of the circumflex does make sense.

Bien vu! Je m'interrogerais même sur le pourquoi du comment mais I'm sure you noticed French is quite a versatile language and I'm pretty sure I won't even find a proper reason for that.
