Yes, create a space where you feel good (put up things of interest, rip out/ clippings of pictures that you like (art, colors, etc...)
put on your favorite music...this is key to getting your creative flow 
look thru art magazines (art forum...etc)
start by just doodling play w/ paints creating colors, goof around with layers
have fun w/watercolor (what happens when u sprinkle salt to a water color droplet?) play play play
get some clay & play

all while listening to what you like
