We own what we created.
And we ask that no one go out and make a Process Icon without our consent. Even if it's not possible to copyright animation, it is possible to copyright our making.
We own it--therefore we ask people don't run off and make their own.
Even if it's not possible to copyright the process, we'd appreciate people not making the process the same way we do.

you have the copyright on any icons you made, but you can't copyright a process. that's called a patent, and you can't get that unless a) it's actually, you know, original, and b) you actually invented it. since neither of those apply (i can guarantee you that there's prior art) you can't claim that you own it. if you really want to own it, go file for a patent... and tell me what happens. i'd love to see you get laughed out of the patent office.
