hey a few quick questions again. what lense do u usually use for skateboarding and i did some new stuff and i tried doing what u told me to.. not get ass shots and use the rule of thirds.. let me know what u thing.

I usually use either my 35-70mm 2.8 or 70-300mm 4-5.6 lenses. I'll go check out your shots and leave ya some comments on what I think of 'em.

but i actually have a question. i love taking pictures of skateboarding, and i see u have a lot of realy good pictures of skating. i was wondering if u got any pointers on what to do and how? (the few that i have posted are the first ones that i have taken with that camera)

I checked out your photos. Try using the rule of thirds (read up on it on google if you don't know what it is). Also show where the skater came from and where he is landing. Try avoiding ass shots, shoot from an angle where you can see the skater's face as well as the takeoff and landing as mentioned above. If you're gunna be shooting alot of skate shots check out wheelsandwax.com It's an action sports photography forum and the dudes on that forum will really help you out on getting good at shooting skate photos.

I also noticed you shoot a lot of film. I was just wondering, how do you go about developing the film?
If you do so yourself then do you use any special darkroom techniques to achieve certain effects? or just photoshop?

I developed and print all my black and white film shots in my school's darkroom. I don't use any special techniques really, just dodging and burning and using contrast filters. For all my color film stuff I just take it to the local lab to get them to process it.

s'alrite mate. i used to skate myself and ure pictures reminded me of the times wen i wld watch all the skat vids and read sidewalk etc. good times. ure pics are really good, really proffesional
